I've really just about had it. My patience and hope for my car are pretty much depleted. It seems so close to being finished, the motor runs and all, and seems to run well, it just wont idle. I'm just tired of dicking around with it. I guess the real problem is that I really don't know what I'm doing. When my motor blew 5 months ago (due to my stupidity), I pretty much knew jack **** about the car, and so I jumped head first into getting the car running again. I've learned a lot, even though a lot of stuff is pretty self-explanatory, but I'm really stuck at the end. It's just stupid little things like trying to find goddamn vacuum leaks. I know there has to be a big-ass leak somewhere because the motor doesn't even try to idle, but there's so many places it could be, and I don't know what things are supposed to look like exactly to be able to discern if it's a possible leak, or if it's fine. I can't even seem to get the brakes bled correctly. And the kicker is, I don't know if nothing's working because I'm just not doing it right, or if I am doing it right and it's not working because of something I screwed up a while back. Another problem I'm having is that I can't put the transmission in gear while the engine is running. I don't know if its because the clutch isn't bled correctly, of if I didn't do something right with the clutch when I dropped the motor in, that would require me to drop the tranny or something to fix.

I guess I'm just having too much trouble diagnosing the problems because there's just too many unknown variables and I can't narrow it down to the real cause. And I'm just plain tired of dicking around and trying **** in hopes that it just might fix the problem, when it doesn't do a damn thing, or makes it worse. At this point, I'd really rather pay someone to finish the damn car for me so I can just be done with it and relax.

Drink, drink, and...uh....drink. Take some time off and drink. Then go back, and if your feeling impatient, leave and drink...then go back to it.

Seriously, go do somethign else, watch TV, read a book, go screw the significant other, but get away from the car!!! Once you have slept and have a clear mind go back and check everything from scratch, and I mean everything. unforseen things can happen that you do not see. Such as vacuum lines being pushed off after you mount the UIM, you can't see them, but they are not where they are supposed to be. Never assume that once you find a problem that will be the only thing wrong. look everything over carefully, 2 problems are more than likely your culprit. If you remember a few weeks back I was having a problem with my N/A running horribly rough, and just could not find the problem. I went through the sensor harness completely and did all the sensor checks, found out I had a bad Fuel injector resistor. My engine was running on one rotor, and one fuel injector (0-60 = 20 mins) I wqas frustrated, I thought I had a blown motor, I thought the world was going to end, but I left the car for a day, went back to it and started from scratch and found the sensor. You will find it, you just need to get away from it for a while.

I have no choice... I work with these Demons everyday.

And i love every second of it!

No, to be completly honest. When i get home i can't work on my car, sometimes i'm just to frustrated lol. I admit working on our cars can be a PITA, working on ANY CAR can be a pain for that matter.

Leave the car alone for a while. You make dumb mistakes when you're mad and not thinking clearly. I spent 4 hrs. trying to put an engine in. I was up till 2 AM, screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs. I finally gave up and went to sleep. The next day it took me 20 minutes to figure out what I was doing wrong and get the engine in.

this advice is so true, I know sometimes we like to be hardcore and work

on things until all hours of the night, but the truth is more quality work

gets accomplished when you arent tired and hungry.
