Honestly I wouldn't sell many vehicles to people I know, but this is one of those few items I would.

It's a great starter bike, Amy's been riding it for the last 2 years, but we'd rather just sell it and buy something newer for her in Florida. I'm keeping my GSX-R, hauling it down in the truck, the shipping company's are rediculous.

FDRacing 06-04-2004 09:01 PM

I'm thinking of trading in the R6 and getting a CBR600RR, i rode one a few times last week and i think i'd be happier on the honda. And to make it even sweeter, the overall cost/interest means ill pay less for more!

phinsup 06-04-2004 09:02 PM

Really? I think that's prolly the first time I have ever heard that LOL

I like the R6 much better, but after owning a GSX-R I don't see myself on anything else in the future, I've been incredibly happy with it.

defprun 06-04-2004 09:03 PM

You have alot of toys phinsup! jesus christ...

phinsup 06-04-2004 09:04 PM

LOL I've paid cash for everything, been broke my whole damn life, but always saved my cash to buy the stuff I want.

FDRacing 06-04-2004 09:06 PM

the GSX-r was odd feeling for me. It seemed bulky if that makes sense. I hate the R6 as a "show off" bike. As in my buddy can pull his 636 up for like 8 poles without trying, my R6 only hangs 2 or 3 when im TRYING.

I get on the CBR and i can go as long as i want. Its also quicker, more comfortable, and imo alot sexier looking.

defprun 06-04-2004 09:08 PM

This is great, ill make sure i test drive all those bikes before i even think about buying any one of them https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif Thats when im ready for a new bike anyway, first, i need a norton commando with ducttape holding the seat on! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

FDRacing 06-04-2004 09:08 PM

I didnt test any, just went, rode an R6, and bought it.

It was stupid LOL

defprun 06-04-2004 09:12 PM

thats what i would have done. Gotten my money together (or credit) and went and bought a GSXR without trying other bikes. Ill make sure to try ducati and aprilia..but that might be a mistake, lol.

Oh **** a ducati 999r would be so sweet...

The GSX-R is possibly a bigger layout, but it's a shitload lighter then the R6 or the CBR, I dunno which year you rode, but they have been lighter since about 98 or so by several pounds.

Honestly I've never really ridden a 600 I like and the 600 is certainly not the best bike on the road for wheelies, I'm putting down at least a 125 HP with my mods and can lift it up in pretty much every gear with little effort... rear braking is more inportant during my wheelies LOL Every 600 I've ever road takes a bit of finesse to get up and keep it up.

I'd agree the CBR is prolly more comfy then the R6 dunno about looks though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

LOL you'll prolly be back to the gixxer https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Until it came time to pony up the dough to pay for it, not to leave out insurance.

You can get alot more bike for alot less money

FDRacing 06-04-2004 09:23 PM

I'm staying in the 750 and under catagory for the cheaper insurance honestly. The GSXr 750 is extremely light, just seems wide to me. And inst suzuki one of the most exepensive of the options?

My buddies 636 wheelies so easy because he dropped a tooth in the front lol.

depends what you mean by "alot more bike". im willing to pay mroe for a bike with better road manners at high speed, high speed cornering and more agility even if it sacrifices 1/4 miles times. but thats just me. i just heard things about the italian duo.

but yeah, the dough part was what i meant by a mistake to check out the bikes...

venomrx7 06-05-2004 12:10 AM

the gsxr does seem wider to me, and also seems to have a higher center of gravity. this is in comparison to a r6 and cbr600. now, don't get me wrong, I like all 3 but all have their high and low points. the yamaha is still my favorite all around. honda's seat feels like plywood, and the gsxr feels out of balance, but the yamaha is almost so comfy that you forget its there, untill you twist the throttle

and i don't do the wheelie thing. I have, and can, but I see it as kinda pointless. I just like to go fast. **** frills, **** showin out. I go fast on a bike. that is what they were made to do.

SoniX 06-05-2004 11:24 AM

I am personally very happy with the ZX6R I got, I used to not like the style of the ninja, but the new ones are very nice, especially in solid black, went out and bought a joe rocket pheonix jacket today, with the zip in rain liner, very nice, damn comfy for florida riding as well, since it is balls ass hot out here, the jacket feels like it isn't even there when you are moving. plus I look sexy in it, women want me.

spaceman Spiff 06-05-2004 07:57 PM

IMO 600 is the best first bike if you are afraid of it. and BTW congrats on liking the cbr CBR= GOOD.

HA HA yea I was kinda surprised no one noticed. Was going to sell my AE and buy the one that's for sale locally, but I can't get a hold of the guy so it might be sold. Definetely wanna do a big build up on the motor when I have the cash.

venomrx7 06-06-2004 03:04 PM

is that what the cash from the katana is goin to?

No it's going towards bills LOL

If I can get a hold of that other AE, I will use this money, then sell my AE since the motor is already built up in that one, if not then down the road when I have the cash I'll start my project.
