i think not we depend from oil companies

happy 4th !

phinsup 07-03-2008 03:38 PM

oil companies and big corporations. we are in fact a banana republic, the elections are an illusion to make us feel that we are involved in the process.

this election has done nothing but disappoint me and cause me to lose all faith in the process and the american people, the fact that anyone could "get motivated" for either one of the morons up for election makes me lose all faith in the future of this nation. It's a recipe that's finally been perfected, just the right combination of citizen involvement to make them feel like they have some say, but not enough to actually give them any.

Are you truly free if you have the ability to say whatever you please, but no one listens?

are you really free if you're not living in anarchy?

If I lived in the US, I'd be a little worried about that Obama guy

Was America not founded on Christianity?

He has THREE ISLAMIC NAMES. Nothing against Muslims. Don't focus on the wrong details.

Does he support Israel? That is really the biggest question. Is he going to support Israel as a nation, or will he force America not to recognize Israel? The **** will hit the fan, if the latter happens. If he supports Israel, then awesome.

I know I'm Canadian, but, America supports Israel, and has for YEARS. It's fact. Look it up. Now there is VOCAL people in the middle east, who are associated with Islam, who want to destroy Israel. I think he should make supporting Israel at the top of his list of duties, but think about the struggle that might be presented to him, trying to have peaceful relations with Islamic nations, and at the same time supporting Israel? He could become indifferent to Israel's fate! Then **** would hit the FAN!

He seems so clutch to me, he could save America, he could be exactly what America needs, yet at the same time, he could get America all fucked up just as easily.

America maintains peace, and Israel is no different. Israel should not be forgotten.

phinsup 07-04-2008 12:42 PM

Corporate shills, if those two are the best options "we" (even though we had nothing to do with the process) can come up with to lead this country, that right there says a lot about the current condition and future of our nation.

Neither one of those ******* idiots is a win for us the people. There's going to be over 500 million spent by each candidate to win this "election" if you think normal hard working citizens donate that money then you are as bad as they are. the fact that the only discussion i see is how bad the other candidate is, should say enough about the process without going any further, that's been the case for some time. the US citizens have been voting for the lesser of two evils. I guess in the past, I was to some degree ok with the voting for the lesser of two evils, I am however fairly disturbed by the fact that the massive amount of corporate media and advertising has convinced some people to actually get motivated behind one of these monsters and somehow convinced them one or the other is a "good" candidate.

It's just a sad situation and I'm extremely nervous about the future of this country.

teknics 07-04-2008 01:35 PM

ive been voting for anarchy since i was 12.

kevin.

ColinRX7 07-05-2008 12:02 AM

I totally dig what phins is saying. Bigtime.

I watch alot of American political pundit shows.. The shows were about comedy years ago, but since this election is coming up, sometimes you see a darker side of what they are making you aware of, and it just screams "WAKE THE **** UP AMERICA". Obviously I don't qualify as any type of expert, but that's my perspective. I don't dig either candidate, and that's the nail on the head right there, lesser of two evils? That's BS. Everybody vote NADER or something. Just go big or go home, don't **** around with the guys who have the most positive forms of negative qualities.

Tons of room up in Canada phins, and we are known for coffee consumption!

teknics 07-05-2008 10:34 AM

this is why i wanna live on a boat like phinners. that way once the nuke is launched i can get out of here asap.

seriously this country is being politely delivered to its own demise....by the people "in charge"

Yea I got that PR pamphlet, how you are trying to change from being known for good weed and beer consumption to coffee consumption, personally I've got no issues with being known for any of the aforementioned. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

On serious note I found out something very cool, in Canada you cannot search a canadian registered vessel without a search warrant. Here in the us anyone from fish and game, the local yocals to the coast guard can walk into my boat whenever they please.

I won't vote for either one of these two scumbags, I made that decision this year and hope more people won't, i'll vote for one of the independents, I don't want either one of those psychos thinking I actually support them.

Baldy 07-07-2008 08:04 AM

I'll vote just to get the "I Voted!" sticker, so people don't bug me about "DIDJA VOTE? DIDJA VOTE? DIDJA DIDJA DIDJA???"

This is the first election I've really paid attention to and started to care, and now I'm just disappointed. I'm registered Democrat, but I'm probably going to vote McCain, just because he seems less likely to turn the basket over and change everything, he doesn't seem like he's going to ruffle as many feathers.

phinsup 07-07-2008 11:13 AM

Both of them have every intent of driving this country into bankruptcy and leaving YOUR children with the bill, you go vote for Insane McCain or Barack Insane Obama and you get to explain to junior why he can't afford mac and cheese to feed himself when he grows up. Vote for one of the independents at least you can claim you tried. You want to be saying four years from now "yea i voted for McCain" or "yea I voted for Obama" i hope to hell not.

I really don't understand how anyone can say they are going to vote for one of those scumbags with a strait face, they are essentially the same thing TOXIC.

1988RedT2 07-07-2008 12:29 PM

I'd like to see some hard info on running mates before I make my final decision. Betting on either one of these guys to last four years is anything but a sure bet.

1988RedT2 07-07-2008 01:20 PM

Like I said, I find is disappointing that the american people in general buy into the pandering bullshit (above is a great example) that these two are spewing. They're both a Jimmy Carter in the making, all kinds of great ideas and no ******* clue how to get them done. I'm gonna balance the budget, keep the bush tax cuts, set up a base in iraq like we have in germany, give money to faith based programs, take care of Iran BULL***********

I find almost impressive that we are running through the streets with protest signs at the fact we're stuck with voting on either one of these demons, it says a lot about the state of our society. Keep the people dumb, keep them afraid and strap them with debt, they'll do whatever you tell them.

defprun 07-07-2008 03:51 PM

Nuke the whales!

j9fd3s 07-07-2008 04:03 PM

obama is going to win, at least out here.

i dont think that is a good thing really, he's just going to get us out of a recession by spending more money, but since we've already been doing that for a decade, i dont know where its going to come from....

i could also point out that he's got 3 years of experience.... he was a constitutional scholar forever, which is why he knows how to get elected, but once he gets in office he's both inexperienced and screwed.

mc cain lacks the focus to get elected....

phinsup 07-07-2008 04:10 PM

3 years experience? more like less than one, he took the senate job and a year later started running for president, i'd be amazed if he's voted more then a handful of times. Now he wants to give money to "faith based charity's" so now the gov't is going to use MY tax money to finance the braindead religious zealots.

i'd put my money on McCain UNLESS, and there is one thing that could destroy him, that would if he gets sick at all or ends up in the hospital for any reason. mccain is just more Bush, more same old politicians he's been a senator forever, he's as much a part of the problem as all the rest of the useless dirtbags in teh senate, sans maybe two or three good senators.

They are both dirtbags, like i say we should be rioting in the streets for being forced by corporate america to vote on one of these two corporate shills.

defprun 07-07-2008 08:36 PM

McCain can pretty much do anything and get the vote...the only thing that would destroy him if he turns out to be a transgender demi moore look-alike on weekends.

not at all true, if ends up in the hospital even for something stupid he's done.
