motor trend

Also talks about the effects of big rims+low profile tires.

Sometimes I have an urge to go leave notes on windshields, reminding people to check their pressure. I see way too many people with tires low on air, sometimes I'll even say something if I see the driver. I'd hate for someone to slam their Expedition into my 7 on the wet interstate just because they don't think enough to use a damn pressure guage.

As counterintuitive as it sounds and feels, if you hear a tire go--and believe us, you'll hear it--avoid hastily lifting off the gas. Never stab the brakes; instead, nail the gas pedal.

If you hear a tire go bang, mash the throttle.

Weird

Yeah,

If you slam the brakes you will loose control. I dont know about "mashing" the throttle, but as long as you dont jump on the brakes https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png

Yeah, I like the example they use, of the criminal who manages to stay in control after the cops blow out the tires.

I had a blowout at 85 in the FD. Whenever anything happens while traveling at high speed, I instinctively try to hold my driving for a 5 second period while I asses the problem and negotiate a recovery.. I thought it was only natural NOT so hit the brakes.
