0-100 in 17 seconds... that's pretty slow for a car as agressive looking as that

yeah that does seem a little slow but you could always mod it that is if you can afford the car and still be able to buy mods

Thats cool looking, I will probably never even see one in person. Remember.. James Bond drove a Lotus. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

ThirdGenRX7 04-10-2002 08:34 AM

also for 38,000 I'd expect a little more than that... i don't think putting that ***** engine in there is a very good idea

winger 04-10-2002 10:22 AM

maybe a 3 rotor engine would help this baby

ThirdGenRX7 04-10-2002 12:23 PM

i think the renesis would work nicely, a car that light doesn't need much torque https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I hump my car when nobody is looking

and I thought I was the only one doing it.....

actually if u look at the 0-60 its seems pretty quick. anyways that car is more known for its handling and superb braking. so yeah its sounds slow but its really not a slow car because the lotus elise sport has 190 bhp does 0-60 in under 5 sec and is considered a race car from factory all that for under 45k dollars. check this out

ThirdGenRX7 04-10-2002 01:33 PM

How can it go 0-62 in 5.7 seconds and the next 38 mph take 11.5 seconds? That seems a lil odd to me.

yeah it does to me too. the car looks nice but uhh ill just stick with an rx7

winger 04-10-2002 01:44 PM

my guess is that its geared for 0-60 times...and then...no more power left....kinda like civics to which I will show my rotary powers this summer...

Lotus didn't do too well with their last attempt at a $30K sports car, The Elise looks great, but too light for the US, Might as well get a Yamaha R1. IMO

The Lotus Elan is the next generation sports car. It encompasses state of the art technology and breaks new ground in ride and handling. Powered by a 1588cc twin cam 16 valve turbocharged engine that produces 162 bhp, the Elan goes from 0 to 60 in 6.7 seconds and attains a top speed of 137 mph. The chassis is a hybrid of Lotus' classic steel backbone mated with advanced composites to create one the stiffest cars in the world. The Elan presents the technology by which all others will be measured and has been acknowledged as the fastest point to point car available.
