the reason why chinese make so much is because people are stupid.
you buy chinese crap for half the price, and it breaks in like 2 weeks, then youre faced with a buying decision again...do i re-buy the easily broken chinese crap or the more expensive yet stronger american crap? of course reasoning is defeated by $ and the chinese thing is bought again, then breaks again, then again they buy the chinese thing. now having bought the same thing 3 times, rather then the american thing once. granted, some american things break faster then imports, case in point ford. kevin. |
While there are exceptions, I will always consider an alternative to the cheap chinese ****. If I can buy what looks to be a better item for no more than twice the price, I will generally opt to buy the non-chinese made item. Admittedly, I am a freak, since an overwhelming majority of Americans buy the cheap ****.

youre not alone, i do the same thing. i hate buying cheap crap and it breaking. the best are the people who are OK with it breaking, simply because it was cheap. ****, if you wanna throw out money ill gladly take it. kevin. |
lol, i almost dont participate in the economy at all. except for the aforementioned coffees, and a slight predeliction for used jdm go fast parts (fcon's ARE sexy!)
|
my only input to the economy is fast food places, car parts, and gifts for the woman.
oh and gas. kevin. |
This is a good example of what activist groups were trying to present when the "buy american" thing picked up. Now, you hardly ever meet a buy-american fanatic. I remember the good 'ol days when China made cheap plastic toys that you'd get out of a vending machine and that was it.

the problem is there is no non-foreign made alternative for a lot of things. more and more us companies are making their components in other countries, even things "made in the usa" are usually made of crap as chinese components.
i rarely by the cheapest of anything and it still breaks. |
Anyome remeber WALMARTS "buy america" campaign?
