Dumbrotorkid 06-03-2004 05:20 PM

setzep 06-03-2004 06:42 PM

How the hell does that work?

nopistons94 06-03-2004 06:57 PM

s/c until boost, s/c cuts off with some sort of clutch and boost is only thing on.. when theres not enough exhaust gas for boost s/c kicks in to keep induction being forced

venomrx7 06-03-2004 07:13 PM

wow........ that is one pisston engine that I could deal with owning

1gendreemer 06-03-2004 07:15 PM

Screw that....no reason you couldn't do that to a rotary.

nopistons94 06-03-2004 07:17 PM

again not the first car to do this ...

"Main features of the Nissan March Super Turbo are :

The front-wheel-drive March Super Turbo was introduced in 1989. Base model is the March-R with l000cc engine. This March Super Turbo had a turbocharged + Super charged all aluminium l-4 930 cc OHC engine, and it was smoothly accelerated from low to high rpm ranges. Transmission had been improved, and aero-parts were equipped. Drum brakes and rear suspension had been an area that had come in for criticism of the March Super Turbo."

I heard an urban legend once (friend of a friend) about someone doing that with a Camaro + NOS. It was apparently crazyfast while it lasted.

that would be very easy to do with a V-8 considering the the S/C is mounted between the heads. you would have to use a pully set up like an A/C compressor to be able to shut off the S/C at whatever psi or rpm.

Not with the newer centrifugal superchargers! IIRC, only roots-type blowers mount to the intake manifold.
