I just wanted to know what the numbers mean, and what form of measurements they are in? (e.g 225/55R16?? width, height???mm, inches??)

Also, is anyone running the new Bridgestone S-03's on their RX7's???? Meant to be very good!!

I got Bridgestone Potenza' rubber on my RX-7 and it is very sticky to the road. Pretty dam good in rain to. :bigok:

They were the second most expencive there at the time, the first was the Poll positions. They seemed nice. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

225 is width 60 is an aspect ratio or percentage of the width the last number is your rim size.

So 225/60/15 is a roughly 7.5 inch wide tire that is somewhat tall and is mounted on a 15 inch rim.

Normally it looks like 225/60/R15 or some variation on that..

Then you got your speed ratings...

STHRVZ and all of those....

S being the lowest ZR usually being the highest!

Speed ratings from 112 to roughly 200mph... (usually 186)

Though usually higher the speed rating lower the wear rating meaning it will faster....

But that all depends on driving and conditions being driven in!

I could get more technical but this pretty much says enough...

What type of potenza's do you have???

I dont know about the U.S, but the S03's are the best,

I just wanted to here about there wear on an rx7, guys here in Australia get 10,000 kms on a Gm commodore, but they are big v8 heaps of junk, bit like a Camaro over there!! :repuke:

I think the s03's are the current best "street" tire ( non R compound like a032r) but they are $$$$. the toyo t1-s's are very close for less money. I just stuck some on mine.

kumho ectsa supra 712's ~$70 each and worth every penny. they are very good for their low cost! if i wanted decent cheap tires i would def go for these so i don't break the bank https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
