So far, I'm using an FD and an R34. The last upgrade I got was the level 8 engine.



Sadly, the R34 is faster than the FD in the game, however the handling on the FD is far superior.



My question... What's your favorite car to use and why? Is there a particular car that is incredible in all aspects towards the end of the game? If so, please feel free to let me know so I can start saving up for it.

Just finished the last of the bosses with my FD (only wanderers to go!). Man, that car looks awesome in full unpainted CF with a red rollcage and red rims, but it still looked better before. I had an awesome purple and black paintjob (self designed, of course https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... )... that was a scary looking car. My R34 in full CF looks like a demon, but it doesn't have the engine swap yet so it's slower than my FD. So, yeah, the 3rd gen is my favorite.

Havnt played it yet, is it any good, I was always a Gran Turismo kinda guy.

It's good if you play quest mode. Because you have to race to "money," it gives you something to look forward to. It's deffinetely worth buying for only 20 bucks.

Is there a regular "arcade" mode on the game. Where you can pick any car and just race? Or do you have to go through the game and unlock certain cars?



I was thinking of getting it. Is it worth buying, seriously? I have a huge amount of PS2,Xbox,and Gamecube games it is not funny. I don't want another game added to the collection that I will only play one time.

yeah, theres an option whre you can just race. but the story is just so much mroe fun!

It's not faster if you put the supra engine in the FD, than its fast....cause the supra engine has a 6 speed tranny...oiy.

I love doing custom paint jobs! Hook up your USB mouse and you can use it to do the paint. It makes it super awesome!

too bad no usb mouse for me! Although i did one awesome paintjob to my FD...one pixel at a time...

both are good the graphics in 3 are much better. lots of cars in 3 the and more cities!!!!! they have actual turner cars in 3 like MCR skyline, odrio's supra and NOB's s-15 silvia, To answer what car I like driving the best its my custom RX-7 all CF with motor swap. The I-6 eng. w/6speed., I also really like driving the MCR skyline that thing handles very good. I'm down to just wanders but not many left to go...then my ps quit playing dvd base games!!!!!!! ****. so on hold till I get another ps2

it's really funny that all u ppl are so adamant about NOT swapping engines IRL, but are all about it in that game :P

I only randomly swap my RX7's engine for only a rotary turbo or a NA rotary depending on the application. Swapping in the same engine is like a stage 10 upgrade, in case you were wondering.

Also anyone heard anything about the logitech racing wheel for PS2? I'm thinking of picking one up next week, it has the shift paddles under the wheel and weighted pedals and rubberized grips, for 30$.......lot better than the generic wheel and pedal i was looking at for 20$

I'd wait for the wheel that "apparently" is going to be released with GT4. It's supposed to be super realistic and turn something like 720 degrees both ways. I read that in playstation magazine, it's going to be just like driving the real deal lol.



It's probably going to cost a pretty penny though, so if money is an issue forget this post ever existed lol.

I have two RX7's. One with the I-6 and because of this, I had to buy another and just upgrade the hell out of that one. Unfortunately, the I-6 is faster in the game because of the tranny.
