Well I have never had a tire get puntured by anything in my life till today. A little nail on my Falken tires. Is it safe to get it patched if i'm going to use the tire for high speed driving?

Yeah stupid question but just curious.

when i was into bikes they were using plugs on their tires so i would think that a plug would be good enough for a car.

Few places use plugs anymore.

Most will patch in the central tread area with no problems.

If it's in or near the sidewall, it's probably not fixable.

Never had a puncture before? That must be some kind of record. This is what I do, I go to wally world and buy the plug kit, and then fix it myself. I've never had any problems at high speeds, but probably not the greatest thing either.

a pro patch job is just as solid as the rest of the tire.. no worries!

patch it don't plug it

I just had a tire on my wife's car done. Cost damn 20 bucks! They pulled it, patched it, balanced it, etc. etc. so I guess they need to charge that much. Still, damn Continental tire isn't worth 100 bucks new. If the tire is otherwise in good shape, I wouldn't worry about it. Just get a reputable place to do it.

Been Pluggin tires since 1982......never had a problem. The Camel tire plug kit is at all the auto parts places. $6 for about 20 plugs. It is as simple as it sounds. Pull out the nail and cram a plug in the hole. Twist it 6-7 times and pull out the tool. Takes about 2 minutes and 38 seconds. Go to where you have compressed air so you can fill the tire if needed.
