So I've been thinking of getting an electric lately, just to bang around on, play some nirvana, etc, etc... Either a solid or a semi. Anyhow, Gibson is the only American made electric I have been able to find,, still looking of course, know of any others?

its been my experience that the gibson's, even the epiphone non "gibson certified" guitars play the best IMO. my SG epiphone plays like butter, my next fav is the fender strat, then everything else.

Ibanez is japanese company started in Nagoya Japan making knockoff spanish guitars.

Looks like the epiphone line is made in China, not sure what I am going to do, I may just buy something of craigslist since it's not going to get near as much use as my acoustics. I've been watching craigslist, you can get some ******* deals on there right now on guitars, people are ******* broke.

yep. from about 88-2000ish both gibson and fender made some great axes. newer than that, and it seems like they've been making way way way more, so they get really inconsistant. i personally like my fenders, they offer lefties for less than the price of a house |
Yea I dunno, i just refuse to buy anymore made in china junk

go play some! they all sound different, also they all sit differently on your body. my les paul (epiphone) is comfy jimmy page style, and the way you grip the neck, you're kinda playing that way too. the strat MY strat has a giant fat neck(they have several different sizes), and you have to have it up higher, makes me play more technical stuff or just get one of each, they arent expensive if you shop around |

Few people realize that George W. turned his back on fame and fortune when he quit a highly successful folk-punk band to pursue a career in politics.
