I live by the water and are a total beach bum......I need a boat!

Thinking of the Sea-Doo jet boat but i dont know the differences between them.

There's the Sportster, Speedster, and and the challenger I think.

Does any one know the diferences. I tried looking it up but no answers, unless i go to the dealer....but im talking used.

Is there any other companys out there that make a jet boat also that handle like the Sea-Doo ones handle, but perhaps are better??

yamaha and sea ray make them. Both with twins as well.



I think the difference between the speedster, etc... might be the size, there

really arent too many of them around here due to the sea weed

and grass.



I do warranty for Yamaha and they seem like a well built little boat, they

have thier common problems but all boats have those.



Consider how long your season is because remember you have

to pay a boat and insurance all year round not just when you use it in the

summer. You pay insurance in the winter but you cant use it, it only covers

the boat incase something happens while its in storage.

Ya i know about the insurance, its the same for my motorcycles. Pay for it to sit there.

So if i look up Yamaha and the Sea Ray what are they called? Who makes Sea Ray, or if they are the manufacturer then whats the name of the boat syle?

Then you would know that jet boats suck. If you want a real boat that "handles", get an inboard ski boat. Malibu, Sanger, Nautique, Mastercraft, etc. Hope you're not a waterskiier, because watersports and jetboats don't mix.



Probably a safe entry-level boat though, if you've never owned a boat before...

yes indeed a waterskiiing boat and a jet boat are 2 totally

different things, not everyone wants to water ski. But jet boats

do handle good, just dont handle water skiiers.

I dont get your logic by saying if i want a real boat that handles get a ski boat. Are you trying to say the sea doo's cant? Cause as far as i know they can turn on a dime! Why would i want a inboard ski boat....borring. You can submerge a jet boat if you want! Im out to have fun....not go fast in a straight line

Comparing a jetboat and an inboard in terms of handling is like comparing some FWD "sports sedan" to an RX-7. Sure, a Celica or a Prelude will handle fine, but they are no RX-7... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I'm talking deadly fast turning accuracy... I have careful friends, and I know of at least two incidents where passengers have been thrown from the boat because they stood up at the wrong time.



Anyway, all I was trying to do was make sure you had no intentions of getting into any sort of behind the boat watersports (tubing don't count), because if you do you will not be satisfied with a jetboat in the long run. On the other hand I'm sure it would make a fine first boat for a beach cruiser.



And if submergibility is one of your key criteria then you don't have much of a choice. By they way, why would you want to do that? And how is done? Seems like flipping the boat on it's side would do it, but that seems way too dangerous for the driver... doesn't sound to fun to me!
