mechanical engineers hate those little wires... THere isn't enough current or voltage running thorugh them to care.

=)

that is why i get to wire it all up since i'm in elec eng

Looks good. Now go get some seat time and sort that thing out. I keep telling that to the OSU FSAE'ers who spend all their time building and engineering and hardly any time driving or tuning. They don't have a plan for preparing the car through iteration of track running and adjustment, which is sad, because the car is a lot faster than any driver who doesn't have decent amounts of experience in it. But you know that already probably. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

What did you guys do for an intake manifold? There are three SAE cars at OSU that I have seen, and their manifolds are aluminum tube, rubber tube, and carbon fiber weave. They made the C/F one with wax plug and wet lay-up, and I wish I had the time to make one for my FC.

Lookin good. Too much maroon though, not enough burnt orange. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Hey, so what the spring rate of solid aluminum stock? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

I like the welded steel uprights. We have something similar. We used to have cnc aluminum, but we decided to take the hit on weight in favor of stiffness and time. The welded steel took much less time to build.

Are you guys running Kodiaks again this year? We got a set of super pimp Jongbloeds (pronounced "young blood"). I'd post a picture but I can't find one, and the model we got isn't shown on their web site.

so are there restrictions on aspiration? if not that thing needs a turbo. and a really loud bov so you can get right next to someone and blow it off in thier ear. it also needs a rotary

610cc max, 4 stroke, all air must pass through a 20mm restrictor for gas, 18mm for methanol.

Turbos and superchargers are of marginal gain. You can reach choked flow through the restrictor NA, so forced induction doesn't help a whole lot. We made over 70 hp NA last year with the restrictor, and we are traction limited into 3rd gear... 1st gear is bordering on useless, so more power doesn't make you any faster. It's more about handling, and driver ability.

Rotarys are specifically banned. :(

Cause they'd own even with the restrictions!

Damn, that looks so awesome. Our school is too cheap to sponsor anything like that. All they have is a privately funded SAE dune buggy that sucks.
