Man, some jackass from singapore tried to charge a $5,000 order 14 times, he used a different credit card number EVERY time. I finally banned him from the server.
First off I wouldn't ship there without a wire transfer, but did the ******* actually think after trying more then 10 different cc numbers I would ship something to him? It's funny I was reading one of my internet articles about web security and **** and they claim that most cards are stolen from mailboxes and that the phone call activation deal they have now is pretty much worthless, yet everone freaks about online ordering. |
yo tell me he used diff names too?

Nope, same name and address each time. although I have had that happen, I had a guy use stolen cards, two different orders, **** part is, I got slammed with a $20.00 fee for processing a stolen money, funny how the banks act like it is them taking all the risk, but it's really the vendors that take all the risk.
|
Basically **** rolls down hill, by accepting credit cards, I take the liability and the responsibility of determining if a card is stolen. My system uses AVS, or address verification to ensure that a card is legit.
What really sucks, are things like I can't ship out of the US now because of the risk and getting screwed in the past. The vendor takes the brunt of it, but lets face it, he either passes the loss on to the legitimate customer, or goes broke. ultimately, it's the consumer that pays it whether the credit card companies want to admit it or not. |
lol 14 times? twice is about all you can do without being suspicious
|
I've had the same thing happen to me.
Guy gave me 2 different #'s. Luckily my brain worked that day and I called Visa for verification, and while I had them on the line I got address verification. . . needless to say the address' they gave me weren't where he was(Stolen!!). So. . I had to decline the transaction. But hey, I'm not out the $5400 he wanted to spend! Better safe than sorry. |

cant you report the guy to someone?
who is so stupid to try it that many times, lol probably the same order |
Yea, the bank that does my processing, I called them and they said they had already flagged it and were going to call me about it. They are notifying Visa and MC since he used both.
No idea what happens with, prolly nothing. I've been fucked twice by stolen cards and nothing ever came of it. |
