I've been watching the news since it was first reported this morning, and the impact you speak of was more than likely the explosion/concusion. Any kind of impact would only be from pieces of debris scattered throughout that area of the state. This whole thing brings me flash backs of watching the challenger explode 17 years ago on tv as it launched. Very sad day.

r_xplicit 02-01-2003 01:27 PM

that is some focked up shite.

i heard about it, but our computers were down here at work until a few minutes ago......how far away was it when it blew?

About 200,000 feet traveling at 12,500mph when they lost contact.

r_xplicit 02-01-2003 01:46 PM

i heard that it was in "the spot" where communication is normall lost, and then people started calling NASA and reporting the explosion over dallas/ft. worth and surrounding areas....

i hate that ****.....now if we could only pin that on Osama..... :bigok:

UniqueTII 02-01-2003 04:08 PM

My dad told me about it, then I saw it on every monitor at CompUSA. It's a pretty sad thing to have happen, but it's a calculated risk. I wonder what it would take for the gov't to realize there isn't a whole lot to gain from the space program. I certainly don't mean to sound cold, because those people who lost their lives left a lot of people behind, and that's always depressing, but no worse than any average person who dies, on the job or off.

actually the NASA guy said it was a area where communication is good for them, considering they have a base in Houston.

Only thing Osama needs pinned on him is a target, that cowardly

mother fucker that he is, so big and bad hiding in ******* caves like

the filthy animal that he is.

i woke up right before it happened. my window shook and my whole house shook for about 10 seconds. i thought there was an earthquake or something. now if i could just find some of that debris. on my way back from dallas they had one of those electric signs saying to call some number if you find debris. who is really gonna call that. pretty soon there will be some on ebay.

is that car of yours running?

Shane.Trammell 02-01-2003 04:43 PM

dont know yet. my guess is no. i went up there on thurs and they had just painted it. it looks really good. now if it was just running. the guy said they were gonna look at it to see what the deal was. i told him it was prob flooded and kind of how to fix it. ill go up there on mon to see whats up.

Rob x-7 02-01-2003 04:47 PM

good thing we told you what to do just so you can let Homer the body guy work on it anyhow.

Shane.Trammell 02-01-2003 04:52 PM

yeah. it is at a shop though. they have a licensed mazda guy. im pretty sure they wouldnt mess with it before thurs if i dont so i dont have to worry about them doing it. i just dont have enough time to get there to mess with it. they close at 5 and thats when i get off work. i have school all day before work. i dont know what im gonna do.

Rob x-7 02-01-2003 04:55 PM

if they have a Mazda guy there, it should be no problem for them, unless they want to **** you. If I had some car in my shop that wouldnt run, and the owner had a solution to it, I would be more then happy to let them jump in and get the thing started so it wouldnt have to be pushed all over the shop, lol.

Shane.Trammell 02-01-2003 05:08 PM

yeah they are having fun pushing it around! they usually do want to screw me but since its their fault that its not starting im sure they will be able to fix it no prob.

Judge Ito 02-02-2003 07:50 AM

To loose a group of scholars in a matter of seconds is really hard to deal with sometimes. These were people dedicated to there passion. I could only think of the family members. A really sad day for America and the rest of the world.

rxrotary2_7 02-02-2003 08:06 AM

definatly horrible.

on a side note... does anyone think we hide any of a major weapons up in space? while all this **** was on the news yesterday, someone came in my office to watch my TV and mentioned that we *hide* weapons in space. i dont know what to make of that.... it seams reasonable, but this also sounds like a statement from someone who claims the government is watching them and spying on them... lol! which this guy is kinda like that... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
