hmm ok lets see, you've read the loose change story....

on that same trip we had a thourough discussion on the physics of the truck and trailer interaction. with a demonstration.

hit a bend in the road at about 65, trailer breaks loose, and starts swinging side to side, until it dropped enough speed to stop. it ws even scary for us, and i fixed the windsheild on the race car with tape at 2am.

THAT story is a different post

Yes, pulling a trailer is an experience. Certainly when things go awry. I was talking with my good friend who borrows my old C30 duallie to pull his 30' travel trailer, and he was speaking of "respecting the duallie."

The benefits of an extra set of tires on the road are considerable. Of course it stinks when you need new tires, since you have to buy six instead of four!

What do you guys pull with?

the truck is an expedition, trailers about 30' enclosed. with the car in it, backwards its rear heavy, and anything over about 60mph, its got enough mass to start wiggling, 65 and the tires break loose, and the people in the next lane need to cange underware....

Yah, you really need a duallie. The fishtailing tendency completely goes away. If the road is fairly smooth with no up-and-down dips, you don't even know you're pulling. Well, until you check the mirrors....

And that's with the frame hitch at the rear bumper. My truck also has a fifth-wheel hitch in the bed. I hope one day I get to pull with it. I hear that they do even better.

I tow with my buddy's truck. It's a 2001 Dodge Ram. We call it the "big blue bitch" because it's pretty much a community truck. I bet half the miles on it are someone else's. If you need to tow something, just give Tonay a call and you can borrow his truck lol. He was thinking about selling it, and my dad told him, "Tony, you can't sell your truck." "Why not?" "Because we all need your truck."
