Awesome, that'd be tough not to brag about.

Wasn't the Citation X-10 some sort of 80's American muscle car? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

KoiHoshi 10-12-2005 04:00 PM

Pinnacle Air had no comment on the incident Tuesday, but did say it was cooperating with the investigation.

LOL

Who would have a comment on that? "So your security missed the airplane taking off without clearance?"

"Uhhhhhhh, no?"

94touring 10-12-2005 04:24 PM

Believe it or not, its not that hard to steal a plane/jet. They are always open and they don't have "keys". If you know how to fly it all you have to do is hop in and take off.

KoiHoshi 10-12-2005 04:26 PM

It'd still be imbarassing.

1988RedT2 10-12-2005 04:31 PM

Embarrassing is posting in a thread you didn't read and get the wrong citation!

teknics 10-12-2005 05:17 PM

i thought someone stole a ticket off someones car, i was all like "how is THAT gonna be funny"

kevin.

boxrs4sale 10-12-2005 06:14 PM

thinking about it, it wouldn't be that hard to do.. once its started, get clearance from the tower to take off (don't file a flight plan) and just land at uncontrolled fields.. oh and keep the transponder off

boxrs4sale 10-12-2005 06:15 PM

and if your at a controlled field, just keep the transponder on until you are off their frequency, or just say your transponder is fritzing out. lol

My older brother had a citation (the car) that thing was the biggest peice of **** ever.

boxrs4sale 10-13-2005 11:40 AM

not the car jooo idjiot

boxrs4sale 10-13-2005 11:43 AM

compared to most of the other jets in the corporate world, citations are one of the cheapest you can buy, and don't compare to a Gulfstream or Global Express.

94touring 10-13-2005 01:12 PM

A new citation X will run you around 15 million give or take several million. Some of the others can be had from 1 to 6 million.

any corporate jet that runs from 1-6 mill is probably a piece of **** astra or westwind from the 1960/70's... and you can pick up an older citation for that matter.

the newer gulfstreams run around 40 mil, and the global express around 55 mil.

"But officials said the person who took the plane is likely an experienced "pilot.

i have only flown 172's in real life, and have a private pilots license.

where i work we train corporate pilots for jets like the gulfstream, global, hawker, citation series, etc... it does take experience to fly those, but if you have access to a flight sim (like i do), flying jets and learning the instrumentation is really simple.

actually rob, you can get a type rating just from flying the simulator. thats how realistic they are.

im not talking cheap ass video games with a four point motion base either.

i have about 120 hours in a 172. and if you count all the sim time, probably about 100-200 hours in an erj 135, 10 in a global express, 5 in a GIV, and 20 in a challenger 604. simulator time can be counted as actual flight time and entered into logbooks.

no im not a superpilot, but i enjoy flying and it comes really easy to me. i soloed my first time with only 5-6 hours and completed my private license with 41 hours.. the minimum is 40.

lol your turnpike has 5 exits. we were going to exit 4b or something. I see exit 1 im like "good i got some time ill start to relax" then all of a sudden im swerving across the turnpike barely making it to exit 4b.

******* fake ass turnpike. its not even as big as a pike, ya know the fish...ha ha ha, etc.

me and martin made it from union, nj (passaic county, bout 30mins from NYC) down to delaware Univ. in like 1.5 hours, we were doing 120mph thru NJ on the turnpike, like the whole time.
