First a little background. We have the longest finger dock in the marina, it's about 20 feet longer then any of the other finger docks. A lot of people like to fish off of it and I usually don't say ****, we also have the usual gawkers that come down the finger dock and start loudly talking about the boat. Those asshats I go up top and I say "hey where do you guys live" and they usually say "michigan" or whatever so I then ask "Oh i guess you live in a house" "Oh yea", "well what would you do if some stranger started looking in your bedroom window?" Some of them are dumb and actually reply, but most of them just leave when i say that.

So a little about boater etiqutte, first you NEVER board a boat when the owner isn't around and even your closest friends will always say "Permission to come aboard" it's just a silly formality, but it's also a pleasantry. So on with the story.

I'm sitting here playing xbox and i hear someone step onboard, I'm thinking man Amy must be home early, then the dogs start to growl, what the ****? So i go look and there's a dude with a fishing pole standing on my stern. WHAT THE ****. So I throw open the companion way and say, what the hell is going on out here! The guy mumbles something about fishing line or some **** I don't know. So I say "Stepping aboard someone's boat without permission is a damn good way to get shot" This mother fucker grabs his **** off the dock and almost starts running.

So I'm thinking about getting a little laminated sign that says something to the effect that "We call this boat home, please be respectful" something polite like that, either that or I shoot someone to make an example and yes I would be completely within my rights to do so.

That would be far too subtle for some people. I'd be more direct and say something like: "If you've been invited here, please make your presence known to the captain. If you haven't been invited, then keep the **** out!"

That, or "Premises protected by Smith and Wesson". https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Yea i might have to leave the keep the **** out part cause the dock management might get a little miffed about that.

It doesn't even make the news here, Florida castle laws are some of the best in the US, texas is the only other one that comes close. It's the ******* wild west out here.... but it's east. I wouldn't even get cuffed for shooting some dude trespassing on my property.

"Those who board without permission will be keelhauled"

Look up keelhauled...its actually, really fucked up.

Baldy 01-13-2009 09:45 AM

A sign would be nice, even put it on the finger dock, not on the boat.

TYSON 01-13-2009 03:01 PM

Lotsa empty ammo boxes scattered around would be better than a strongly worded sign. haha

Dipshits would just think it means they get a free ride on the river.

Gate is open from 7 to 7 after that you have to have a code. But there are dock people here during the day, they just don't come over to our area (which is fine I like that). I can't really bitch at them because we hang out with them all the time (go over to their house, etc..) but in the same respect I can pretty much get away with anything.

Go sit on their lawn with your wife, a couple lawnchairs and cold beers.

wouldve thought the dogs growlin wouldve been enough to get him to move without you having to step in...

Yea so would I, but apparently it didn't bother him. I've got to assume he heard them, if I weren't home they would have been barking their heads off.

yea but it is an indication that people live there and may be home.

treceb 01-16-2009 03:35 PM

funnier wouldve been if someone called the cops cause they thought the dogs might have been left there unattended/abandoned and they come on the boat start looking around and suddenly you come out strapped. dildo and everything........

mazdaspeed7 01-16-2009 06:38 PM

I bet you had to take some "personal time" after you thought that one up...

phinsup 01-16-2009 10:11 PM

I don't usually bust out da boat with my dildo strapped.
