I just completed 26 years in. I am staying for 30. My time has been 8.5 years active duty and the rest reserve time. Just got back from Kuwait (again) in July. You and your friends be careful.

i hate being here in korea and being below a country building nukes but i would rather be here than be over in the desert with a bunch of crazy terrorist. be safe

I know we joke around a lot in here but for real man be safe. From one vet to another, I really appreciate what you are doing. Not many people volunteer any more to keep the masses comfortable and safe. Veterans are the minority not the norm. Veterans are an elite class who hold there head a little bit higher than everyone else. We see things that our civvy friends would never believe us about but our service buddies just flash a knowing smile. Regardless of why people join the armed forces in the first place, the threat is real and the sacrifices are very real. Take good care and watch your 6.

Your not joking twst it the little over 8 years I've been in I've seen some strange stuff. Things my civvi frineds can't understand and some refuse to believe. Actually its a little hard for me to deal with them at times. Military people don't have the same thought process as regular folks. One of the funniest things I've seen was a Marine smacking LOX bubbles with a hammer! I think he dented his brain.

Hey man be safe over there. Keep your head down and your eyes open.

On another note, I don't think you should be posting stuff like this on the internet for everyone to see. I know you probably get preached to about stuff like this all the time at work, but you never really think anything will come from it. Well let me tell you that **** can happen when you post info like this for all to read and tell there friends about. I almost got killed because some jackass gave out a little too much info about what my crew and I were doing in a foriegn country. It's not fun when you have some people from a strange country chasing you around. (I'm an E-4, Loadmaster in the USAF and have been in for about 6 years now and have seen and done seen really strange ****.) Just be careful about how much info you give out.

BTW I'm in no suggesting that anyone here is a terrorist or has any intention of harming a member of the military who is fighting to allow them to keep thier way of life.

Midnightdriver 11-07-2003 11:28 AM

yup thats all the info I plan on giving out. even that could be to much. so perhaps a mod could remove the locations from the post. that would be good.

Good comment 7Mech. I'm in agreement with you completely. I'm an E-5 Flying Crew Chief on C-17's and I know exactly how crucial staying quiet on the 'net is!! But for everyone that is going to where ever, be careful and I will probably be flying you over there!! Just ask your flight crew who your FCC is. If I hear anything about 7's, you can bet that I'll be around to talk to you. Laterz.
