Ok here is what has gone wrong with this car since I bought it...



clutch

Clutch quadrant

Hood

Alternator

Exhaust

and now the radiator....



This car is hitting some nerves with me...



My poor 2.3 may end up getting the brunt of this anger as I may swap the drivetrian out of the GT into the 2.3 since the 2.3 is getting ready to go onto its 3rd tranny....



If nothing else I may convert the 2.3 to a 5 spd put some work into the motor. get a new exhaust and get ready to swap everything out..... I am getting so damn pissed at that GT it is not even funny!!!



Who the hell said the 5.0's where more reliable than the 2.3's? Remind me to shoot them! my 2.3 has been a great car! Good ride. Good cornering. Lacking power but fun to drive. GT? Loud rough ride squeeks more than a pack of mouses in osama bin ladens *****. Cant talk to other people in the car unless you scream... yep getting close to had it with this car...

I love my 2.3 it has never let me down and that will be one car I keep for a long time... However my damn GT.... grrr...



Now I know why the damn car was for sale!

Thats what you get for buying a fox body convertible, they drive like a wet noodle, also you bought a GT, we used to beat the be-jesus out of those cars every chance we had, between my friends and my cousin, we had next to a dozen of them. Transmissions were always **** even when they were new, one friend of mine had Ford void his warranty on transmissions after he blew his 3rd one up with under 15,000 miles on the car. But other then that, the cars took a beating. Your car is a 87, you dont think it will need the basics like clutch, radiator, alternator, exaust? Those are normal wear and tear items! And those ******* hoods never closed right, always had to slam them to close. Fix the exaust with stock replacements, and the car is quiet, then again- your car is a poorly designed convertible- if you want a convertible- you deal with extra noise, and leaks.

Local RX7 I found for sale... if I sell my GT I may go after this car... he aint asking much and I need to see what the car needs.....

problem is I am hoping to come out of this with maybe 2 grand I can spend on a car.. thats if I am lucky....



this car is for sale in my area and he wants 1700 obo....



So expect some problems.... There is also a guy I want to talk to I see a red I think base model sitting on his property. Straight body no real rust unknown mileage and mechanical shape. But I want to see if he is willing to sell it.

Is it a base 2nd gen, or base 3rd gen?

Dont get me wrong. My Gt is fast for being stock. But I need something ab it more civilized... I mean lets face it a convertible is a loud and rough ride in just about anything short of a Mercedes or BMW or such.



By the way I hate my interior I will include a pic so you can see how ******* ugly it is!!!

Yup burned through a tranny on a brand new 97 in less than 10K miles....

No problem really with the tranny.. Been good!

Well she is 13 and has been driven somewhat hard so I guess I should of expected this... and I suppose the radiator may have taken a hit when I slide off the road... been noticing it leaking coolant since around then.....

But still it is just wearing me down....



The exhaust is FACTORY! and 13 years old! lol yeah you know thats shot! lol

Put the fork in her shes done...

Put her out of her misory...buy another 7...yeah I heard them stripes give you 25% more hp...so you better buy it...lol

Well got a guy coming to look at it sunday....



so I got my fingers crossed....



I ran her tonight against a Nova 350 with exhaust and a mild cam and pulled on him. So she is still pretty strong. Gas mileage even with the huge exhaust leak is still exceeding 25mpg.. Dont ask me how!



But it is time for a 7 not another 7 as this will be my first. Plus I am not completely leaving the mustang part as I still have my coupe.



But for now I am looking into GXL's since the Turbo II's seem to be holding higher than I can currently afford... So a base or GTU or GXL 5 spd are on my shopping list. If I cant sell the GT then I will have to wait and get the money up from scratch to buy the 7. But it will happen! I am still pissed at this car!

Well spent a few hours cleaning her up tonight... Got someone coming to look at her tomorrow.... fellow mustang nut and friends with my girl. He knows all the problems with the car and doest care. But I must say the car cleaned up very well! I spent time did all the carpets and interior panels.. My gf helped out a lot in cleaning the car up. So wish me luck guys!
