S200 has more whp, and was designed to be a track car, while the 8.....wasnt.

on top gear they put an rx8 up against a 350z and a bmw m3 and it ran the exact same lap times.

I'm curious what your basing your information on, just because it has backseats doesn't mean it can't turn.

i never said the 8 couldnt turn.

but what time did the S2000 put on that same track? (i guess its too much of a hassle for them put have a list of what all the cars ran on their lap.........)

How large is it?

I've seen the RX8 and S2000 autocrossing, and they both looked good, but not as good as the Z06 vettes or built FDs, but yeah, they both looked about the same. The S2000 looked like it sat lower and appered slightly more nimble, but I never bothered to look at the S2000's time because the engine sounded horrible when wound up and I found the car to be uninspiring. The RX8 beat my FC by a few seconds on a ~40 second course and didn't even look like it was struggling, but that was only my third time autocrossing. At least I beat the 2 novice FC drivers that showed up by a few seconds.

We did a high speed event in Sebring last June. The S2000's had the FTD's at the event this was over Z-06's Vipers Porsche 911's and lots of Prepared cars.

The suspension on the S2000 is amazing right from the factory. I got to Autocross one with no mods except a set of Victoracer tires. I was amazed. Its handling remineded me of an FD.

So if an RX-8 has as good as a suspension as a FD it might just make a good Autrocross car.

But, in all honesty, its about having fun driving your car as fast as you can. I am so used to these stupid local courses where you are in second gear all the time. When I go to an event like sebring where you running in mod to the top of 3rd (100 mph+) I get my ass handed to me.

The last itme I ran in Sebring I never looked at my times while I was there. I just drove my car hard and had fun. Its a $5 trophy it really does not matter.

Some early 90s Civics have pretty impressive dual wishbone suspensions, too. It's weird how they would put that on a commuter car, but I could definately see Honda improving the design for the S2000.

Yep, high speed driving looks very different from autocross driving. I'm going to have to make it to a track event at Portland Itl. Raceway one of these days. What a rush! It's a little scarier being at the limit of traction at 60 mph around a curve instead of 30. If you were to crash, the energy released on the car at impact would be four times greater at double the velocity.
