Use a propane torch on the plugs or clean them off really well than do an oilchange that usually fixed my finnicky 1st gen.

The oil probably does suck in quality now. It's been days since it flooded, and my bet is a lubrication issue since compression seems to be what's lacking.

Thanks everyone for entertaining me with what is probably quite a minimal issue.

So an update: I was hoping to have this all sorted out. Pretty convinced it's something dumb, but certainly not just a flooding issue. A buddy came by who knows tons about rotaries and we checked a lot. There's nothing wrong with the entire ignition system (plugs, wires, coils), the fuel pump doesn't sound like it's priming, at least we couldn't hear it, but fuel pressure is about 35 so it's above the minimum just not great. Didn't have the tools to do a compression test, but it sounded even for both rotors. Found one of the block's grounds was dangling, but that wasn't the issue. Only things left now are to test fuel pressure at the pump and if any fuel/ecu-related connections are lose or not grounded properly.

Any comments would be much appreciated since I'm running out of things to do, and everything keeps checking out fine.

Check the voltage to the fuel pump, I forget what it is supposed to be at start up. Once you do get it running have someone sit in the hatch and check the voltage again at WOT.
