I have a Dual 1.25 G4 and a 17" cinema display, and a 900mhz quicksilver with a 17" cinema display. both with superdrives https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I love em. the perfect video editing stations. I dont know whats wrong with your school's mac's, what operating system are they running? OS X? or are they still running OS 9? Frankly, the older operating systems did have a fair amount of problems, and a lot of extension conflicts. Rarely ever did they reach the number of problems that winblows has had. Also, using schools as an example is bad in general. People play with them, ignorant kids break them, think they are being cool or know what they are doing. OS X is so well intergated with its UNIX core that the stability it has is almsot unshakable. Its not the fact that it has a UNIX kernal. Anyone could have done that, but just slapping a graphical shell on top of UNIX or LINUX would be just as unstable as piling Window's update on top of Window's update on top of window's update, like they have been doing obviously. However, apple made sure that the system was carefully intergrated into one another, thats what aid's in their stability. That and the protected memory and preemptive multitasking. BTW: anyone goto apple's website today? The new Power Mac G4 dual processor's have dropped in price substantially, the 3300 Dual 1.25 can now be had for 2200 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png and they lowered the 17 inch cinema display from 999 to 699, and introduced a 20" cinema display for 1299 and a 23" for only 1999!! the 22 inch used to be 2400!!! sweet deal im buying some lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png well maybe someday haha
