i assembled an engine with this wierd grease that instead of lubricating things it made things stick, and all my apex seals or some **** got stuck and i blew it up while i was cranking

the name on the tube of grease was "JB WELD"

so i guess if it makes **** stick, it wouldnt really be GREASE now would it?

haha just keeping my bs out of the thread i saw

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif You know you're supposed to use epoxy around apex seals.

ColinRX7 09-11-2005 10:17 PM

also for whatever reason the motor was hard cranking, i know the coolant is full i checked the dipstick and everything

Il RX8 lI 09-11-2005 10:28 PM

Did you flush the brake lines and check the headlight flipping mechanism and top off the oil in the throttle body and UIM?

ColinRX7 09-11-2005 10:29 PM

nevermind guys i found the problem

i dont have enough crome spokes on my 26" wheels

Il RX8 lI 09-11-2005 10:31 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif Moron, you're trying to run 280 spoke when you've only got 120, right?

sweet7 09-11-2005 11:48 PM

Ah, here is the problem.

I see this all the time. You guys just fail to realise how import it is to change the air in your tires.

In addition to that the fact that you didnt use Marine Tex for seal holding could also be a problem.

builders have used wheel bearing grease in a pinch, and a DRIFTER came in and said that "apex seals or some ****" would get stuck and to prove to him that they wouldn't get stuck!

ColinRX7 09-13-2005 03:25 PM

Someone believes in "the more sealant is better" philosophy of installing the oil pump. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Same person thinks oil jets are optional https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif
