so this new recall thats out will be like the 6th or 7th one, which is probably a record for a japanese car. it seems like theres plenty of whining going on about this new one too. so is mazda just going to pull the plug on the rx8 in america just cause we bitch about everything, and then keep selling it in the rest of the world for another few years, like the fd?

I dont think they will pull it because of the bitching, i really dont think they give a ****, but they will pull it if sales tank.

Papa Ford has big enough problems, I say concentrate on making something that will sell and make money

Thats cuz Mazda sucks. If it werent for the rotary I would never own a Mazda.

We all see the stupid things they do, they always try to out do themselves and then get into trouble. Example: "fly by wire" throttle(rx8), Logicon, CPU, Electronic suspention, AWS, IHI twin scroll, sequential twin turbo... The list goes on.

work on a mercedes sometime.... seriously, i've had to work on mine a little, and you work on it and wonder if they hired the engneering school dropouts....

mazda sucks organizationally though, our problem with training people is that they want to look up parts in the catalog and expect it to be right!

Eh, I'm gonna disagree. I've always liked Mazda, and have even owned a few. First car was an RX-2, daily driver was a 626 that I owned for 14 years and never gave any trouble, Current driver is an '05 MPV, so far so good, and of course the T2. They all are/were good cars, IMO.

If Mazda has seen more than its fair share of troubles, I'd attribute it to the fact that they, so much more so than other manufacturers, are willing to take risks and even introduce new products and technologies (rotary engine, Miller-cycle V6, etc. ) and when you go this route, there is bound to be a glitch now and then. Mazda's warranty has long been superior to most other mfrs, and I feel that they stand behind their product. I would not hesitate to buy another one.

The only other mfr. that stands with Mazda in the innovation category, IMO, is Audi. It's not a coincidence that my wife's dd is an A6 2.7 TT quattro.

If you want a boring car, go buy a Toyota.

The new MINI has had just as many, if not more teething problems than the RX8. And the English, who are normally used to car being big piles of crap, are actually the biggest complainers of all the niggles....

And RX-8 Owners have NO SENSE OF HUMOR!!!!

Saw a silver 8 in the home desperate parking lot, told the driver: "Good luck on getting a new engine in the upcoming recall" Dude glared at me with a glazed over look in his eyes
