I got to check these both out at the NYC show this weekend, they are both great. The RX-8 you couldnt get near, it was on a spinning platform. But the 2003 Mazda 6 was there in sedan, hatch, and wagon, and you could sit in them and what not, WHAT A NICE CAR! Price range is said to be $17,000-$23,000. Another great car is the MINI COOPER S. What a cool freagin car this thing is for about $19,000!! Compleate with a supercharger, intercooler, traction control,17" rims with run flat tires, stability control, leather, 4 wheel ABS disks, Xenon lamps, the list is endless. I think with every option, and there are alot of them its $21,000. So now the decision is to be made for either the Mazda 6, or the Mini Cooper, I think it will be the Mazda 6 though.

The Mini is pretty wicked bad ass.

Yea, I was surprised the Mini was so cheap. I remember seeing it on the today show a while back and they said how much it was going to be, I thought they had screwed up or something. I believe the Mini is made by BMW isn't it? Or does BMW just own them? I think the Mini will sell pretty decent over here.

I believe that the mini will be the next big thing here. If not just for the fact you can have a fun car thats quick, and not a ricer like a honda! It is owned by BMW, the fit and finish of the car is outstanding for the price.

You better get in line quick for the Mini, I've heard they've already got around 900 people on the waiting list for one of those baby's! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Impractical as all hell, but a fun car I would imagine...

Yes, but given the choice between one impractical car and another, I'd definately stick to the RX-7. If you've got enough extra money laying around to buy two impractical cars, go for it!

I have a impractical RX-7, only cause its a 2 seater convertible, the mini isnt a 2 seater, I have another car I drive everyday, a Es300, and I have a old Jeep Cherokee ( compleate with a AMC 360 in it ) that I drive when It used to snow in New York, or to pick up **** from the store. The MINI/Mazda 6 would be for my girlfriend, who pretty much only drives her car to work and for errands. The Mazda guys at the show said the Mazda 6 would be in showrooms before the end of the year, the sedan anyhow, the hatch and wagon later on in 2003 sometimes, so if there is nothing to get when her current car goes in for lease, who knows, maybe a Mini, or she will just have to drive my car until a Mazda 6 comes in .

I agree on the looks of the 6. My next car will probably be a used 6 a few years down the line when my daily (MX-6) gives up the ghost. I think I am addicted to Mazda's, someone please help! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I went to the car show here in Denver and saw both the 6 and the Mini...Between the two, I'd totally choose the 6...I think it's just a better looking car for one...I mean, if any of you ever watch the Simpsons, the Mini looks like the car that big tall dude was driving when Nelson made fun of him (the big dude made Nelson walk down the street with his pants down :newlaugh: )...
