Anybody keep up with the NHRA sport compact drag scene?

I was watching some competition last night on ESPN and the finalists in the all motor class were 2 first gen rx-7s. One was sponsored by RX-7.com(he lost with a 10.93. And the other was driven by a guy named Jesus Padilla, he won with a 10.30. Just thought I'd share...

13BACE, when are you going to start competing?

When somebody pats me to! :P I don't even have time to change my oil right now, let alone swap in a new motor, turbo, etc.

It was actually on espn2...The Powerade NHRA sport compact series. The one I saw was in Redmond VA? WA? CA?

Not sure where the guy was from, Puerto Rico I think. His first gen was that brownish copper color.

Jesus's car does have a 20B. It is stirring a lot of controversy right now. Look for rule changes real soon.

Every time a rotary starts dominating it gets banned.

Just checked the NHRAsportcompact.com homepage and you're right Jesus Padilla is from Florida.

Also 3 out of the 4 main featues were about rx-7's!
