Whoever told you that is a moron. Unless your engine has been specially modified (i.e. rebuilt with better-than-stock parts) you would be wise to observe the factory redline right there on your tach. Unless you have big friends who like to push cars like in the McD's commercial. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I understood that rotary applications have been tested to 30,000+ RPM, but due to production tolerances and engine-driven accessories, the redline was limited to a safer number..

But then again, i could be blinded by hormones.

repeal a couple laws of physics, no biggie

Sinful7 01-22-2004 03:27 PM

Thinking again, I think that the 30k RPM thing I heard might have been a *slight* exaggeration. I'm not sure there's a fuel in the world that'd burn fast enough to keep up with that.. I mean, I don't even know if it'd have time to ignite at that speed.. I

I've seen my friend run his FC to 11,000 with upgraded seals.

11k is a long way from 30k. i know a pissed-on engine cant only go to like 19 or so because when stuff breaks the speed of sound in there bad things happen

Eyxom 01-22-2004 04:48 PM

lol It is indeed far from 30,000. But it is still much better than any other car on the streets.
