Perhaps the people against it don't spend a lot of time online. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif I guess Time magazine will be changing some things now for their target audience...lol.

Time to kill some brain cells. And become one of the 86.4%

Rotarydragon 10-29-2002 10:06 AM

That or someone is using a vote bot or many other things. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Sure legalize it if you can execute anyone caught under the influance commiting a crime on the spot.

phinsup 10-29-2002 11:05 AM

Under the influence, we legalize pot we aren't going to have a bunch of crazy's committing crimes, come on guys worst case scenario we have shortage of doritos and smores pop tarts.

My guess is that poll isn't all that far off, everyone is already doing, why the **** don't we legalize it and start taxing it. Pay for some better books in schools, subsidse colleges, build better roads. Right now we aren't getting a piece of the action.

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 11:14 AM

Legalizing pot to subsidize college would be fan-*******-tastic! I'd get to keep all of my brain cells, get them stimulated at a discounted rate, and the competition would be smoking theirs away! DO IT!

phinsup 10-29-2002 11:17 AM

Yea I am sure there are so many college campus's right now where the students are having troubles getting their hands on weed.

phinsup 10-29-2002 11:18 AM

I seriously doubt that legalizing it is going to increase the number of people that do it. It's like saying prohibition made people give up drinking.

Don't you think there's at least a small group of people who don't smoke it because they're afraid of getting caught? If you don't, then it's time to go back to college and spend some time in the dorms.

So if they changed the drinking age to 15, teen drinking wouldn't go up? Silly man.

phinsup 10-29-2002 11:32 AM

Who was unable to get alcohol when they were 15/16? I wouldn't have drank any more or less if it was legal when I was 15.

I say we get the tax money and call it good. I seriously doubt there are any people that want to smoke pot and don't because it is illegal. In washington state it's easier to get your hands on weed then it is to buy liquor.

We know cigarettes are bad and yet we couldn't live without the tax money, so they are legal. Think of all the tax money we could have for weed.

And for that matter who gives a ****, it's survival of the fittest. I am far more concerned about stupid people breeding then I am about peopel smoking pot, but we can't legislate that.

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 11:59 AM

You've got to be kidding me. You honestly think that everyone who wants to smoke weed and drink does so whenever they want? As far as I know, that only happens in trailer parks and Manhattan penthouses.

I know of a lot of younger kids who wanted alcohol and weed and couldn't get it. I personally wouldn't have drank more if it was legal, but that's because it never really appealed to me. Most of the kids I hung out with drank whenever they could, and if they could have gone to the convenience store and gotten 40s instead of Pepsi, they would have.

phinsup 10-29-2002 12:00 PM

Do you honestly think there are people that want to smoke pot and are unable to buy it?

phinsup 10-29-2002 12:02 PM

And you are saying that even though you don't smoke weed, if they legalized you would go out and pick up a habit?

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 12:02 PM

Well, in college, it's not buying it that's the problem, it's smoking it and not getting in trouble.

And yes, I do know that there are people who can't smoke whenever they want to because they can't get any weed. It's not hard to find, but it's tough to find someone you trust. Getting kicked out of your dorm/school isn't worth the high for some people.

Where are you getting this **** from?

phinsup 10-29-2002 12:04 PM

You are saying millions of people will start smoking weed if they legalize it... that is what you said. So basically people that currently don't smoke weed are gonna go "Oh they legalized weed, I better go get me a habit!"

Smoking is legal... not everyone does it.

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 12:05 PM

Where did I say that?

ThirdGenRX7 10-29-2002 12:06 PM

I 150% am in agreement with phinsup... a first i know but it's still true... also how often do you hear of somebody getting really high and beating the **** out of his wife? Instead of spending billions fighting something you can't do anything about, why not make billions on taxing it? The gov. needs to just admit that it was wrong... especially when 8 out of every 10 citizens think it should be legal... isn't that what democracy is supposed to be about? what the people think? i hate when i rant.....

You say it right here. This comparison is to say that legalizing something will increase the number doing it, is it not? What could you possibly have meant by this if you didn't mean that legalizing it would have more people doing it?

9BASE3 10-29-2002 12:09 PM

Bah... Just legallize it. Weed is the least of my worries... I don't smoke anymore... But I know people of all ages and circumstances that smoke... **** it. Smoke if you got it.

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 12:10 PM

It certainly didn't mean that millions more people would pick up the habit. What it meant was that those already doing it would do it more. You're taking everything I say way out of proportion just to fuel an argument that you created in the first place. If you'll look at my second post in the thread, I didn't say anything about increased smoking at all, but you went off on it, so I went with you.

9BASE3 10-29-2002 12:13 PM

I know people that already do it that I doubt hold the capacity to even fathom doing it more...

But in some cases... I'm sure people would do it more... Some less... I drank less when I turned 21... For a while anyway.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

phinsup 10-29-2002 12:13 PM

OK, so it's bad because we are going to burn off a few people brain cells that are already roasting them... fine. But I say let's educate the ******* idiot children we are cranking out by the millions with the money we get from taxes.

The end result is A) We have a few people that don't think too fast on their feet and a further uneducated America or B) WE have a few people that don't think too fast on their feet and maybe we produce some productive members of society with the tax money they generate.

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 12:14 PM

I drink more now that I'm over 21, and I'll drink more on a night I don't have to drive home. I'm obviously the outcast, what with a regard for some laws and whatnot.

mike

UniqueTII 10-29-2002 12:16 PM

I was already agreeing with you that it should be legalized, taxed, and the money should go for education, among other things. I wasn't kidding.

No argument there... I do the same... But when I finally turned 21, I slowed down... It wasn't fun for a while... This has no real relevance to the stated argument, I was just commenting.

If it's legallized, maybe we can crack down on drugs that are actually somewhat dangerous.

being as I just turned... are you sure you didn't slow down due to the fact that you threw up so bad on your 21st?

HA HA yea so was I, I was just trying to force better arguments. I honestly haven't seen any good arguments against it, my main thing is the sin tax, tired or us heavy drinking mother fuckers carrying the load.

Maybe they could subsidise liquor prices with pot money. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

No... haha...

The thrill went away when I could actually buy it for myself.

Strange, but true.
