Hey how comes that heaeder's got three pipes coming out of it? anyone else catch that?
just probably way easier to combine the smaller intermediate housing exaust ports, infact the pulse from one rotor firing will create a vaccume behind it and then aid in sucking out the next pulse from the next rotor firing much like a header does on a n/a piston engine.. It'll also probably make the exaust note much quiter as well...
front looks like a s2000......IMO
that is undeniably badass!!
that looks awesome!
why is the bung on one tube only? wouldn't that mean you are getting a reading from one rotor only?
What I am really curious about is the long term life expectancy of the exhaust splitter in that centre plate. Its required to prevent the hot exhaust gases from one rotor chamber blowing into the other. However, due to its thickness, I wonder how long it will last at those extremely high rotary temperatures.
Will it fatigue, crack off (eventually) & get blown out the exhaust or will a exhaust pulse blow it into the next rotor chamber (with distasterous results). I sure hope Mazda have thought that one through............... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png |
i like that front on the blue fd... in the exhaust pic... looks better than the green one
I reckon if they made it 2 door, added some turbos, removed the backseats and flatten the back out, your looking at a contender for the FE RX7 ???
The rx8's code is supposed to be FE, although in japan the mazdaspeed version's code is SE3P.
