I got mine in high school. Haven't flown in years although I miss it. Ive been thinking I need to get current and start it up again. What are you flying? I've got about 200 hours between a Cessna 177RG (sweet plane) and a Cessna 172. Also have some limited stick time in a Cessna 310, 210, Piper PA-24 Comanche and even got to fly a T-6 Texan for a few hours!

logged a good amount of hours before affordability became an issue...

each session ran me over three smackers and this was back in the late 80s...

perhaps when the kids are a bit older.. ill take it up again..

Yep, same issue I've got. Still $300 per outing? How many hours were you flying? Depending on the airframe I paid anywhere between $90-$130 per hour for the aircraft (plus fuel) and an additional $100/hr when i needed an instructor and was working on getting my license. Ground school it what smoked me. I bought the full King Air set of DVDs and it was like $800. I'm sure there are cheaper options but i liked being able to go at my own pace and rewind/fast forward as needed.
