so in the face of the coming apocolypse, i'm counting my coins. apparently the pre 82 coins are made out of metals that are now worth more than face value.

where do you go to get this moneys, theres neck heads that need bought!

I haven't figured it out lately but last i checked a penny worked out to be like 1.8 cents per pre 82 penny or $0.018. Technically you can't sell them for scrap or "melting" price because that is illegal to do in the US. You could melt the fuckers your self and take it in as scrap copper.

Copper took a beating today so you may want to wait a few weeks.

copper took a beating? how bad?

man people have been ROBBING job sites for copper scrap

one guy died about 4 months ago trying to steal copper out of a transformer (they have literal tons inside). it's a real shame the guy is smart enough to see the value of copper and figure out how much was in a transformer, but not smart enough to see if it was connected to anything and got shocked to death.

Was like $4 in september it closed at 2.85 today

so we brought quarters with us to pay the bridge toll, with the trailer its $8.25. she somehow sees us coming, and was like you need to count it out and hand it to me. between the counting and dropping of change, she was cool, but she came up a dollar short (she was actually like $2 over...). and we were out of quarters.

soooo tommy reaches into his wallet and pulls out a $1, then she got mad "you had money this whole time!"

next time we're going to film it, not sure why the bridge toll people hate counting coins so much, its not like they are going anywhere.....

it makes the job require slight brain power which they don't want to spend.

i guess, we figure money is money, and if it takes a while thats less a-holes passing thru, but we were wrong, and we're going to show up with 7.25 in pannies, and then for the last dollar pull out the $100 bill....

75 Repu 10-06-2008 09:34 PM

that would be priceless. I remember seeing a report on tv about something similar.. some guy went to a store to buy something that was like $125 he had a few dollars in pennies, and some bills, the owner refused to take his pennies.. the guy got in contact with the media and came back with the full amount in pennies.. Apparently they informed the guy that it is illegal to refuse money like he had done.. something to that effect.. lol.
