Sweetness, I think, by Jimmy Eat World. But I'm not sure if that was them singing it, it sounded different.

Isn't the Puma FWD?

YEAH, they are! Colin's Daytona can do that!

Brake drift.

UniqueTII 02-26-2004 12:34 PM

You don't really need the brakes for that, but it's not power-over, it's power-off. I can "drift" my Protege all day without using the brakes at all...the e-brake doesn't even work.

Yeah its called a "feint drift" like you saw buddy do in the Puma. I actually do it in the jetta...only works on slippery pavement though.

I just ****** contridicted myself. You can brake drift while feinting if your brake bias is to the rear it could help the rear kick out. Or, if you are like colins car, all you do is tap the brake and all the sudden you are sliding sideways. The jetta wont use brake or e-brake just a hard feint will cause the car to get sideways..

UniqueTII 02-26-2004 12:47 PM

Pfff....only on wet pavement. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/bsflag.gif

uhmm, 5 dollars says you cant drive off a cliff while doing a sequential drift against a honda civic hatchback?

UniqueTII 02-26-2004 01:06 PM

Well, if you're going to be a fuckhead about it then never mind.

Well I'm sorry. Come summer we shall race, the jetta verses the protege...you will win.

UniqueTII 02-26-2004 01:22 PM

Come summer I won't have it any more...

And besides, I wasn't talking about racing, I was talking about kicking the tail out....without going over a cliff.

Kicking the Protegé's tail out on dry pavement without help from the e-brake?

pengaru 02-26-2004 01:30 PM

I'll bet $1000 I can kick my proteges tail out without the ebrake on dry pavement.

So I get 1000 bucks if you dont do it and you keep the money if you do?

Sounds good to me!

Yeah, well, I'll bet you $2000 that I can kick my Protege's tail out without the e-brake (that doesn't work) on dry pavement while drinking a soda. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

pengaru 02-26-2004 01:48 PM

get on brakes and gas simultaneously. driving torque @ front wheels negates front wheel braking and the rears will brake, sideways.

theres an article somewhere about the stig when he drove for saab, fwd rally racing... he explains this technique and the journalist gets to give it a try around a course in one of the saabs.

UniqueTII 02-26-2004 01:59 PM

I don't have to use the brakes at all on mine, it just oversteers...but I think I'll try that.

TheAntiChrice 02-26-2004 02:11 PM

So if the bets been placed? Whos holding the money? We could give it to 4RR seeing as how he doesn't have a car? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Midnightdriver 02-26-2004 05:19 PM

My friend Dave can do that (another Dave, 1990 protege)

Falken azenis, new suspension, if he corners really hard while going fast his tail will step way out..

And yes my daytona has a huge rear brake bias, i can dorifto in it.. (its fwd)

Apollorx7 02-27-2004 12:11 PM

Pretty old video but its still good. For those of you that dont know the first sond was Jimmy Eat World-Sweetness. There are two versions of the song, I like the first one better though. The second song is Thursday-Understanding in a Car Crash. I saw them live both are exolent bands.
