I've been reading some reports here. Some of the descriptions are pretty crazy, really unlucky, or just unbelievable. Some of these I didn't know were possible.

Worker was electrocuted by static electricity built up on a plastic film roll line.

Maintenance worker was fatally injured when the riding lawn mower he was using exploded.

Worker was mowing a grassy hill along a creek and was later found pinned under the mower in the creek.

Worker was operating a riding lawn mower on a sloped area of a retention pond. Worker rolled the mower over into the pond and was trapped under the mower and water, drowning.

(note to self, push mowers are just fine and dandy, I don't need no fancy riding mower)

Worker was running alongside a forklift to jump on, slipped, fell, and was run over by the forklift.

Worker died after being struck by a tree during a logging operation. The tree was supposed to fall in the opposite direction.

Logger was attempting to dislodge a tree that did not fall after it was cut. He attempted to cut another tree to hit the lodged tree. The second tree fell on him. He had worked for the company for one week.

Worker was kicked by an elephant.

Many moons ago I had an interesting summer job at a polyethylene film extruding plant. The film they made went into everything from garbage bags to baby diapers. The machines were three stories high and there were special strings of what looked like holiday tinsel garland stretched at various places across the moving sheet. These would allow the built-up charge to leave the film sheet and go to ground. Even so, you would occasionally get bit by a bolt that would jump over a foot. I wore metal frame glasses, and that seemed to be a favorite target for these bolts. Not fun, but apparently none of them killed me.

On the riding tractor thing, I have heard of many cases where people were badly injured or worse mowing on slopes. A very dangerous activity, indeed.

I dunno about the tractor exploding thing. Maybe somebody didn't like the guy.

I've read a few that were along those lines. One guy found in a poll of blood in parking lot, no explanation listed.
