Anyone ever use one? Anyone have one they want to sell?
|
Yea when I took electronics in highschool... but I don't remember much from highschool....
|
I know they cost a couple grand. Never used one though. What are you needing one for?
|
You can get them cheaper just depends on what you're after.
More or less it's just curiosity and the fact they give you the ability to watch the various signals in your car which can give insight into what's screwing up or not quite running right. |

You don't need to go that far to figure out what's wrong. If you REALLY think you need an oscilloscope then you should just take it to a mechanic.
|
It's actually more of an intense curiosity into how everything works. You can get most the info with a volt ohm meter but it's fun watching the signals change.
Nothing's really wrong with the car, it's just one of those things https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Technically I am a mechanic https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
I think I understand- Its kind of adds the "Star Trek" factor to working on your car. I remember being a kid and messing with the oscilloscope my dad had for his stereo. I never could understand what it did though.

Very true alltho I will keep my eyes open for one. Plus it's fun to show some of my students what's going on inside the computer even if it is utterly useless for troubleshooting.
