My BRAND NEW Maxtor 30 gig died on me within 9 months. Piece of junk. Turned out it was defective, and they sent out a bunch of defective ones to people and were getting all kinds of returns. So the store hooked me up with a new Seagate 40 gig 7200 rpm. No complaints. My last seagate drive lasted over 5 years. |
Western digital is looking pretty good too.

I likes the Western Digital i have a 6 year old 4 gig that i have dropped and it still works flawlessly in 4 different computers, i have a 40 gig in my comp now that is 2 years old and I've also never experienced any problems with it, the 1 or 2 Seagate drives I've owned (a 10 gig and 30 gig) crapped out on me within 2-3 years..
