this is a problem, americans are having to pay like twice as much for gas as we did a year ago and these guys are not happy with only 34% profit increase

they are also lowering the price of gas now, seems as though the gas companies arent happy about americans not buying gas guzzling SUVs and all this talk about hybrid vehicles. in other words- the gas companies are scared and know we wont put up with thier ****, I stopped driving my pick up around unless I really need it, and I stopped taking trips I dont see as important

the funny thing is everyone is saying that gas is cheaper at $2.40 but earlier this year it was around $1.80 and we thought that was high. weve gotten used to them being at like $3 so now 2.30 doesnt seem so bad, but in all actuality its horrible compared to what its been.

i just find it amazing that oil companies are acting like theyre doing poorly but even through the hurricanes they ended up with a 34% increase in PROFIT! this is what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket

Rob x-7 10-25-2005 04:48 PM

most business would be happy with the profits they are generating

Gas will be around $2 from now on. And everyone(but me, and an observant few) will be happy because its cheaper than the $3 it used to be

Rob x-7 10-25-2005 04:52 PM

what about heat? home heating oil has more then doubled in 2 years, how can people who are on fixed incomes afford to heat thier houses?

they need to control heating oil, which is diesel fuel by the way.

never mind natural gas

I also now have a 52% SURCHARGE on my electric bill as a fuel surcharge

Now thats where i see a problem. How can electric go up 50% when a good part of energy doesnt come from fossil fuels?

i think it depends on where you are where your energy comes from, but i dont know much about that stuff. i think a lot comes from coal and oil but some comes from nuclear.
