Motorola MOTO Q music 9m, apparently it's brand new. They said I was the first one to buy one from that store. I have no idea how to use all the crap on it, it's gonna take awhile. Took me a solid 5 minutes to figure out how to make a call.

I wasn't even supposed to be able to upgrade to a new phone yet, but last time I was in there the manager said they'd transfer over my $100 (toward a new phone) credit from my canceled line to my current line. So I went in there yesterday, and he said he's stand by his word, even though he made a mistake, which just blew my mind. Rare these days.

So I got $100 off, $50 rebate, and additional $100 off for signing up for the data plan (which was required, but I can cancel it any time I want).

It's neat surfing the web from my phone, but nopistons won't let me log in from it. I like that it's upgradeable, with a big enough memory card I can watch movies and stuff. Documents on the go with Windows Mobile 6 software; excel, word, etc. (which I wanted).

Nice camera, and the unit has great finish and texture to it (that rubberized texture, won't slide around when you set it down).

I just need to figure out how to add stuff, like I can't watch vids off the web right now.

Can you actually call people with that or are you usually too busy aligning the space shuttle with the internetational space station?

Baldy 09-04-2007 10:27 AM

I see what you did there!

Really though, I usually like things simple. But I used to have a Palm Pilot (like 6 years ago) and really, it made my life so much easier. But I hated carrying it around along with my phone. Since my palm died, I've been wanting a phone/organizer type unit, but they've been too expensive until now.

I'm so damned forgetful that it's nice to have somewhere to keep my appointments and to-do list, along with playing music, and transfer MS Office files. In addition to making calls, of course.

I think the internet function is pretty dumb, which is why I'll be canceling it after this month.

LOL, I dunno why that made me chuckle.

Anyhow, my theory is if I can't remember to do it, or to be somewhere or someone's name then it obviously wasn't all that important to me in the first place.

Of course I don't even own a watch so what the **** do i know. i've had a hard time finding simple phones the last couple times I've bought them. After throwing 2 motorola's in the garbage I went back to nokia, we'll see how it holds up.

On a side note, don't ever even turn your phone on in the Bahamas. We got charged $6.75 for every call that went to voicemail, one min for the ring in 2.25, one for the transfer to a voicemail number in Florida 2.25 and one for the message 2.25 = $6.75 which was around $450 when we got the bill from cingular, att, whatever the **** they are this week.

Baldy 09-04-2007 10:45 AM

dayum!

TYSON 09-04-2007 11:55 AM

Uh, how does one enter a phone number into this magical device? spell it out? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Baldy 09-04-2007 12:16 PM

If you're on the home screen and press one of the red buttons, it automatically does numbers. If you're somewhere where you can type (web function, text messaging, whatever) you have to hit a shift key to do numbers.

Not very difficult, once you figure out how to get back to the home screen every time (turns out there's a button for that).

phinsup 09-04-2007 12:53 PM

and if you hit shift *** #71 you control this

Yup. And shift *** #72 is this:

TYSON 09-04-2007 05:57 PM

BUT DOES IT HAVE AN 'ANY' KEY?

j9fd3s 09-04-2007 11:31 PM

my brother got an iphone, and i have to admit being skeptical, cause paulies got the cingular phone thats got all of the same features plus more, but the iphone was impressive, its simple, the screen is great, and you can use it as a phone too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.gif

See that's where the issue i have comes in, I have these things on the front of my phone, they are "numbers" they conveniently place them in order 1, 2, 3, etc, etc.... now let's say I want to call someone (yea i know, i know, i should be taking really low quality photos, sending them to my friends at 10 cents each so they can guess what the **** it is a photo of) anyhow, when i want to call someone, i don't have to press anything, i just press these "numbers" then i hit one button and sometimes it starts to ring, other times att tells me the network is busy, but that's a whole other issue. to make a call, i press a total of 8 buttons.

Sounds too ******* complicated.

Yea, totally. Wait until i tell you about my mp3 player!

TYSON 09-05-2007 09:37 AM

8 buttons? We've gotta dial the area code for local numbers even, so I'm 11.

I use the super high tech phone book in mine though, so I just have to remember their name and scroll down the list. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.gif

1988RedT2 09-05-2007 11:36 AM

It's not like I even know more than 9 people, so I could easily use the 1-touch speed dial numbers on my antique phone, if only I took the time to program them. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.gif

When you're done with that, you might want to set the clock on your Betamax.

banzaitoyota 09-05-2007 04:19 PM

banzaitoyota 09-07-2007 05:55 PM

I bump you an 8 Track!

Tom93R1 09-07-2007 09:39 PM

Where did you get tubes? I use an old Sansui tube amp for my home theater... if only surround was invented before 1960. I found the main amp tubes and replaced them but dont want to spend a fortune on all the other small tubes.

I need to clean out the rheostats for balance and volume, the audio gets really scratchy because of something going on in there.

jayshadow 09-07-2007 11:34 PM

sweet phone, i was looking at that and the env ( i have verizon too).
