There was a microbrewery back in Bakersfield that made a brew called Triple Hop Red. Very very dark red, nicely bitter, wonderfull stuff.
Otherwise there's a few micro brewerys around here. Racoon River makes a decent stout, the last batch of oatmeal and rasberry stout they made was top notch. Decent lager as well. DEATH TO PILSNERS! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |
It's near impossible to find a "true" pilsner state side. I like a good Pilsner, but the fact of the matter is it's a long flight to Germany to get one! LOL

Yes, your right, american pilsenrs are made from junk.(miller, bud, etc.), just made to make big greedy companies more money. Although I don't really like pilseners there are some really nice ones made in europe(and Thailand of all places!)
Have you ever tried real Mead?(its made from Honey.) Its the drink of the Vikings! Takes many months to brew, but what a kick! No wonder the Viking were into rape, pillage, plunder and rape(they liked the last one, I think it was the mead!) |

Have you tried making a smokey porter, man thats a beer with some kick! Alaska amber brewery makes a smokey porter, but you almost never see it outside of Alaska. If you want a killer receipe I'll email you mine for "Angus McButts Arogant Bastard Scottish Ale." Soda kegs are a good way to go, but have you seen the "party pig" that holds a couple of gal. I do both and kind of like the party pig as you can carry it around. Right now I've got 5gal of beer going and 25 gal. of wine.(summers coming, got to stock up!) Sorry it took me so long to reply LOL. We'll have to have a get together at my place soon for all the WA locals drink some beer and have some fun! |
