My warranty just ran out, and of course something broke (sliding door handle). I want to fix crap myself, so I figured first step is to get a manual. Dealership says the FSM is $225. Haynes and Chilton don't have it listed on their site for that model.

Anyone know any other options or companies that make repair manuals that are decent?

LOL My dad paid the last payment on his Tribute and the very day he dropped it in the mail it wouldn't idle for ****, I opened the hood and heard a vacuum leak, turned out to be a melted hose. That's the way it always goes.

Did you check on Egay see if they had anything?

Also, figure it's already broken and you know you need a new one, buy it and see if you can figure it out from the part, you'll prolly be able to. Door panel should be easy to get off, ask them for some door panel clips and you can break **** all you want getting it off.

I already paid for and ordered the part, just waiting for it to arrive. Not even sure what part it is, they said they ordered the one I needed (figuring they were gonna do the repair).

It's easy, you silly, simply secure the panel to an immovable object inside the vehicle, then slide the door! Viola!

have you had the recall on the sliding doors done yet with the door latches.

Yes, that had something to do with the internal latching mechanism, not the handle or locking mechanism (something about moisture and freezing temps, didn't really apply to me but had it done anyway).

But check this out. They say I need a new handle or whatever, so I buy the part. They get the part shipped to them. In the mean time it started working fine, it's just finicky. So I say, I don't need it anymore, I need a refund. They say, sorry no refunds on special order parts. I get angry, talk to the manager, and they're like oh, we told you to buy it? Well then, uh, 20% restocking fee.
