New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ****. And it translates to "beef with broccoli." The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

Japanese Kanji actually has SEVERAL meanings for EACH character. They are usually used to spell out somethign that means something but also can mean something else. The same symbol that means "One" also means "Cake" and "block", the symbol that means "Accelleration" means "Rise" or "Exasperation" as well.
So really, by all means if people want to put them on themselves, go for it, that's cool. Personally, if I were japanese and i visited america i'd be like "WTF is with all tehse wacky americans with all this japanese on them." but some people see it as spiritual, or trendy, or cool or some people just want to be unique. That's fine. But in my own opinion, it's the same concept as if a Japanese person put plain english on their arm, i'd be like "wtf is with all these japanese people with the words "brocolli rocks my socks" on their arms?". Just kidding. But honestly, to each their own. I did tattoo designs for about a year and did a lot of Kanji for a few people, usually it's just single Kanji characters, but it was rather fun to design those, but tattooing is all about the person's expression and some people just truly enjoy body adornment via piercing and tattoos, so, to each their own. |
I can see if you studied japanese martial arts and your immersed in japanese culture like some people.
But most people just wanna be JDM. |
LMAO. Exactly.
