Disagree.

928: Only V8 Porsche has made. Good car. I'm actually jealous you're looking at one.

The older Supras are crap.

The Porsche will hold resale, it's better engineered, and it's not falling apart any time soon.

I'll see if I can't dig up some more info for you.

well the people at porsche know more about the car than you do. so im gonna go ahead and take their opinnion on it over yours.

Yeah, I guess you should. I just collect them...

Eric Happy Meal 08-10-2003 01:42 AM

they only service them, and work on them constantly.

928 Pros: It's faster then a large car should be. 0-60 in about 6 seconds. Very smooth running, handles great at high speed and unlike a lot of Porsche's they don't cost a mint to buy.

Cons: YOU WILL LET A PRO REPLACE THE TIMING BELTS AT THE SCHEDULED INTERVALS OR YOU WILL BE VERY VERY SORRY. Otherwise it's probably had all the eletrical grimlins that the car suffered from fixed if not add that to the list. Early fuel injection is a pain in the arse but that was buttoned down nicely in the mid 80's.

The car can get a bad reputation via Porsche enthusiasts who belive that all Porsche should be rear engined and preferably air cooled. The V8 had some issues in the early years (blown head gaskets, some warping due to the block being made of aluminium, water pumps on some of them would suddenly stop for no reason) Plus a few other odds and ends.

I have a personal vendette against K Jetronic systems so I won't yap about that much. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Otherwise the only thing that stands out in my mind are electical maladies (like the 2nd FC Doesn't have any?), the early engines having warping issues, the fact that you WILL HAVE THE TIMING BELT RETENSIONED EVERY 15K AND REPLACED AT THE CORRECT INTERVALS OR YOU WILL BE VERY VERY SORRY, and I seem to remember some clutch chatter issues on the early cars.

Some guys like to upgrade the brakes too.

DO NOT get the Porsche, do you realize how much a oil change

alone will cost you?

You wont be able to afford the parts, stick with the toyota.

Yea headgasket goes a lot on those supras, handling SUCKS ASS! But they have a solid engine, made for big power..

FrestyleFC3S 08-12-2003 12:10 AM

why not get another rx7....for the price you could def get one

and 928 are awesome

but the supras are not
