Peel Trident MicroCar?

The Trident Spearmint!

Looks like a Peel Manxman or one of it's variants. For a second I thought it was a Gregory which would have been uber rare.

If it's the Peel it was made on the Isle of Mann (Manx) and the only car done as such.
Wonder if the manual was written in Manx? |
According to my book "Bubblecars and Microcars" by Malcom Bobbit, that little car is a "Peel" made by the Peel Engineering Co. on the Isle of Man. It was billed as the smallest car build in the UK. It was introdued in 1962 (three years after the Mini made it's mark). It had a 49 cc DKW engine, with a top speed of 35mph, that drove the back wheel with a chain and three-speed gearbox. It sold for 200pds$ and came in a wood box which doubled as it's garage!
