i like these elixir, but i dont like them that much, i can get 3 sets of martin strings for the price of these. i'm hard on them cause I'm always strummin with dirty fingers https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif supposedly these elixir strings witht he gortex are supposed to be corrosion resistant and finger gunk resistant.

j9fd3s 07-15-2008 04:18 PM

yeah i play dirty too, my strat gets gnarly, but with the tremelo the strings dont last very long anyways

OOOOH! That thing is badass. I just sold my first acoustic the other day for like a hundred bucks. An old refurbed Yamaha I've had for 10 years. Got tired of moving it around... :( Great guitar though.

What'd you pay for the rover?

Not sure on the specifics (I didn't buy it). It's a Gibson Epiphone steel string acoustic with an electric pickup (doesn't have any knobs on it or anything), no cut away, glossy black. I'm sure it's nothing fancy.

Fuzzy phone pic, but it's on the left:

rover is $150 with everything you see in the pic, case and strap, pretty decent deal.

nice guitar man

i laughed at the first sight in store, but i tried it out and, its really not bad with the fullsize board

its good to have one around even if you dont play it very often. i played alot growing up. sold them for rx7 money because i kind of stopped playing as much, which was a terrible idea, and i bought one again last year.

phinsup 07-22-2008 12:37 PM

got it today man it's a trip, i'm pretty impressed, the fretboard is nice, its lightweight, the case is great, even turns into a backpack. Sound is surprisingly good and its nice and fun to play lol.

I wish I had a little more time to practice on my bass. I carried it next door last Friday night and played a little at my neighbor's while my wife and kids were visiting her mom. Had a blast. Drank too many beers and stayed out until 2 am. Good stuff.

j9fd3s 07-22-2008 02:14 PM

we jammed it out last week with a drummer, it was a blast.

phinsup 07-22-2008 05:43 PM

I love this little rover already LOL I'm going to get a lot more practice with this sucker cause it's quick to whip out and play with (ha ha yes I said all of that on purpose). anyhow I'm sittin here in the recliner feet propped up on the mast strummin away, i love it.

Wait, yer strummin' on yer mast? I didn't need to know that.

j9fd3s 07-22-2008 06:28 PM

tmi! but it sounds nice

phinsup 07-22-2008 06:59 PM

I changed the strings to some martin 80/20's the ones that came with it had a wierd vibration, they were supposedly good strings, but the e major had some funk ass vibration and it was pissing me off.
