Ok, So I went under the sink to grab something, and BAM, the garbage disposal FELL OFF the sink.. Upon further inspection, I found it to be an old piece of crap:

Old blades, yuck.

Side by side with the new one:

I decided to install a new faucet too. I had an old crappy one, now I have a pull-out type, which is my personal favorite.. Also, filled the hole for the old sprayer hose with this handy dandy soap dispenser:

Total trips to home depot for the disposer, faucet and installation parts: 5.

Project time: 4.5 hrs.

Time spent in home depot: 2 hrs.

Extra unnecessary parts and "Oh, that's cool" stuff: $76.48

Now I can wash dishes in STYLE yo! Yessssssss!

4.5 hours to install disposal and faucet to existing plumbing.... tsk tsk, yer gonna have to pick up the pace https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Good job, amazing how quiet the new models are isn't it?

It's also amazing how expensive the sink set up is, I think our sink was $200, faucet was $179, $150 for the disposal, we added a reverse osmosis system as well, so another $225 there of course it will all seam cheap if you do granite tops https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Meh.. The disposal needed a different tailpipe, I needed plumbers putty; the new disposal sat up 2" higher, so I had to re-configure the drain plumbing on both sides; the holes for the faucet were 1/4" too small, home depot didn't have the correct size holesaw, so I used a metal grinding bit in the drill; the pre-fitted feed lines on the new faucet were 20" too short and the soap holder on the dispenser was 1/4" too wide to fit in the sink, again, had to grind it with the metal file. Each of those roadblocks required at least one trip to home depot.

Oh, and the closest thing to this kind of plumbing I've ever done was replace a valve in a sprinkler line.. So I'm a newb

Plumbing sucks, but not as much as running back and forth to home depot only to find something that will kind of work.
