ok so i bought this gsl-se in 98 or so, and in 2001 i took it all apart and had it painted. then i lost my place to keep it and its been sitting in a buddies yard for 3+ years. the paint job sucks! the motor spins but it smoked a lot last time it ran (2002) so i imagine it smokes a lot a lot now.

i have all the bits to make it really nice but i'm not sure if i want to spend the time/money to do it, and its almost to big of a project to give away.

so what should i do with the thing?

If you don't manna mess with it, just sell it to put a few bucks in your pocket.

It would make a nice project car for someone who wanted to spend the time.

Are you not from California area? Go find a better car, rust free. Fixing broken or rusty things takes a lot of time. It may not cost anything if you do ti yourself, but j ust spent all day removing the rust and paint from the subframe, control arms, and front diff case with a wire wheel. My back hurts and I cursed every hour.

Just find a good car and be done.

theres no rust on the thing. see the problem is i have about $2500 into the car already to get it looking like that. if the paint job turned out ok then it wouldnt be a big deal, but i dont want to tear it apart again and buy another paint job, i dont think

jspecracer7 02-12-2005 07:24 PM

Definitely give it to Van.

Is the paint really that bad? A light wet sand or just a heavy cut and polish should bring it back to life, unless of course it bubbled or checked everywhere. Pics are too hard to judge over the internet.

body work is lousy, but the paint would mostly buff/polish out

Mazda used-es metal that is way too thin, once someone tries to massage out the easly made dents, the panel(s) ends up looking really wavy, The body man and I had to work our asses off to get my car as close to straight as possible.

I can see how that and an engine ovehaul might make you want to wash your hands of it.
