I don't think I would have had the disipline to sell the ps2 on Ebay, I think I would have threw the console on the garage floor and bashed it and controllers with a huge sledge hammer!

True, but you wouldn't have gotten any of your money back that way.

I would've probably just bashed the kid's head in with a baseball bat

If my 13 y/o was busted drinking I would be more worried about that rather than how much my bottle of "1995 Vintage Dom" is worth.

That woman has bigger problems than a kid who needs to learn the value of a dollar.

Maybe I am reading that wrong it just seems like she is more hung up on the amount of money she is out by her sons "antics".

huh?

no she tells how she is saving it for 'Special occasion" and how her personal belongings which are her things, the champaign, bugle are important to her and are not his to do what he feels like doing.

I recall being 13 and I knew what the **** was up. I believe the kid will think again when he messes with other people's stuff and he will more than likely half to earn the money to get a new PS2

I think the dollar value was for shock value to be honest.

Jims5543 07-01-2004 07:29 AM

The Bugle was important to her because she was selling it for $51 on e-bay, again back to the whole money thing.

A $120 bottle of Dom can be replaced.

I would be pissed as well if it was my kid and I would probably do the same thing. But, like I said the kid was tearing apart the house and drinking. There are some bigger problems here. I think his parents might have to do more than just sell the PS2.

Bah...

Yay for his mom for getting revenge on the peice of ****.

It's the lack of respect and the need for the child to sneak that would lead me to destroy the console, not a visual display of anger and violence in front of the child, mind you. The vindictive manner in which the mother chooses to deal with the problem is disturbing to me. I will have to agree with Jim, the money is the least of her problems.
