Well, I decided that there isn't much more to do to my car until the turbo conversion. I am not doing the conversion until I buy another car, so I decided I needed another toy for the summer. I found a 2001 Seadoo challenger and decided to buy it. Before anyone rips on Seadoo for their shitty Rotax engines, this one has a 210hp Mercury engine in it. Here is what it looks like.

Sweet! When are we going to go out on it?

|
Maybe one day Ill put my boat back together, sigh... sucks when you work on them all day, last thing you feel like doing is another one at the end of the day!
|
I should have it all done (the purchase, registration, etc) by thursday. I won't have much time to go out on it till I move in to my new house, but anyone is welcome to come out on it. I am in South Jersey as my location says. So pm me for my cell number cause I will be going out alot after next friday.

Just make sure you have insurance on the boat, also- do the waters by you have alot of seaweed in the summer? I dont know what they have done to cure it, but when you suck up some weed, youll be going in the water to clear the intake of it, main reason why jet skis lost thier popularity in my area, and no one has jet boats in this area either.

what marina u gonna put it at? and what part of sj are u in?

I have insurance. There isn't alot of seaweed, but there are canedocks. This boat has a macerator that Mercury patented so that when it sucks up weeds it chops them up. It will keep me out of the water most of the time. what marina u gonna put it at? and what part of sj are u in? Dredge Harbor Marina in Riverside. I am in the Mount Laurel area, near Cherry Hill |
Hope you're not planning on waterskiing behind it. Jet-boats suck ass for waterskiing. Having no propellor, you can pull the back end of the boat around almost as easily as behind a jetski. I bet you could drop the boat speed 10 mph+ with even a mild slalom pull.
Regardless, congrats on the purchase. At least you didn't buy a damn water mosquito. <_< |
Good luck with it then, if you need any Mercruiser parts, let me know, and if you god forbid should smack it up, let me know as well.

Ok, rather, I hope you don't plan to get very good at waterskiing behind it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
If you're slaloming at 50 mph you're insane. I'm just saying if you're doing a normal 36 mph slalom run, carving it up behind the boat, it is going to take one *hell* of a driver (if it's even possible) to keep the boat straight and on-speed. Whereas my dad's old outboard which was a 140 hp, maxed out at 45 mph (with no skiier) would probably be a much better waterskiing boat (because it had a prop). I'm a tournament skier, so I'm a little more nit-picky than most. Gotten a little too used to my friends' high-end ski boats. I'm sure for your purposes it will do just fine. |
