177 HP Elise vs. C-5 on N-ring. The elise keeps up real well........ until the last big straight away the vette walks away. If you look close at the end you see the Vette sitting in the pits when the Elise returns.

|
Yeah it took me 5 mins.
give the Elise credit it hung in there well. Once they hit that straight the vette was GONE!!!!! |
I watched random parts of it...I'll watch the whole thing when I get home and dl it again. I like how angry the guy looked when the 'Vette ran away. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
|
has anyone seen the f50 vs. elise? I think i have it in my computer at home and the elise was hanging with the f50
|
Great vid BTW, the Vette was getting slaughtered in the twisties.
|
Who gets Motor Trend? They had a good article in the most recent issue about the new Elise, very nice!
|
wow... that was some driving.
I never realized Numbering was that long of a track. That elise looked pretty decked out for race gear, stack guage and big wing. the corvette looked pretty stock. Then again that is all i could see so it is hard to say. |

so now we like vettes? I need a scorecard to keep up around here.
|
Who said anything about liking them. You do have to admit they are fast cars...well at least in this video in the straighaways. If you think about how the vette walked the elise in the straight then consider the elise walking down the vette in the turns it is apparent the vette lacks in the hadling dept. vs. the elise. Anyone can go fast in a straight line.

linky no worky
|
No luck with the link. Might be the stone tablet I'm trying to type through.
Both cars seem very nice. It would require some debate but, personally, I think I would go with the Corvette. |
Damn it probably took too many hits. I will try to upload it to my server tomarrow.
|
I LIKE VETTES!!!! i liked vettes before i lied rx7s... i woudl trade my FC in for a 90ish C4.
Oh the LT4 engine is begging for me... =) muahahh |
pretty cool video, shows off the handling of the Elise and the raw horsepower of the Vette
stuff like that really makes me want to turn the FD into a road racer https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif |
It's an Exige. The hard top version of the Elise.
|
i like vetts too, i just like sevens more. i would never give up my fc... gonna have this car till i die ( i just hope its not from the car ). everyone knew that the vet was fast on straiaghts, but i had always heard thjat they could handle too, apparenly it cant keep up w/ a car w/half the hp around the turns. sorry chevy, stick w/the trucks.
|
What's the top speed on the vette? as compated to the much smaller/more nimble Elise? It seems that the Elise could only obtain a top mph of around 130 or so, while the vette i'm sure could get closer to 185ish?
The Elise did a GREAT job keeping up. if the whole track were turns with short straits the Lotus would have taken it. -Markus "The guy could work on his driving technique alittle as well" |

Then again that is all i could see so it is hard to say. How could you tell the vette was stock from looking at the tail lights. All I could see was that the vette had a custon red stripe painted on it. I guess that's a power adder. The Elise was impressive in the turns, the vettte (or its driver) was not able to shake him until the final straight away. I thought the Elise had an impressive run. I really want to ship my car over there and hang out on the track for a couple of weeks. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif |

Then again that is all i could see so it is hard to say. In 1997 15 Marks got you one lap of the old track in your own car. I did 5, unfortunately the car was a rented VW Polo https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif Managed to keep it flat most of the time, got buzzed by all kinds of exotic gear! I have an in car mpg of Armin Hahne in a N500 Skyline on a hot lap of the old circuit........awesome https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif Lotus is a road registerable race car, and does v. well but you can't compare 1.8 litres to what? 6 litres? even in a bigger car |
