So I relaced the spark plugs on my 1992 Oldsmobile Bravada. They were getting too old.
Sunday, after hours and hours of work, I test drove the car and smelled an incredibly strong gasoline odor. I couldn't figure out what the **** it was. So I spent today re-tighening and checking everything. I took the day off of work to figure it out. Six Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs: $11.49 Autolite Plug Wires: $16.84 Oxygen Sensor: $60.33 Twelve hours of troubleshooting and labor: $244.00 Figuring out the Gas Cap was missing: Priceless. There's a lot of things money can buy. Intelligence is not one of them. |
lol, too ******* funny

Classic! I thought those spark plugs were on the pricey side though? That oxygen sensor definitely is... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

The O2 sensor was the bitch. It was the only one available in my area of town. |
Man, I was looking at the engine in my Blazer the other day, and those plugs look like a bitch to change!

if it's an 87ish-93 blazer with the 4.3L V6, you can access the hard-to-reach plugs (#'s 3,4,5,6) through the inner fender. Just crank the steering wheel to one side, and the fender *should* open up to expose the plugs. The plugs sit inside a heat shield that is around the exhaust manifolds. It's really not too difficult, just follow the wires down and get out your socket set!
Oh yeah, for the #3 plug (middle drivers side) I had to go get a special socket wrench that looks like a socket handle with a swivel 3/8 drive at the end. I couldn't get my standard wrench to clear the steering input shaft. |
LMAO, that entire first post made my morning.
Thanks Sin. :bigok: |
Anytime, TKO
